Deployed in the Education Service to drive Change and Service Improvements. In the first 6 months of working in the Service I have developed new ways of working in areas such as; Dealing with incoming enquiries both internal and external; developed processes from scratch to meet Statutory functions within employment processes and safeguarding of children; provided team sessions on change management; trained staff and created Service resilience through Knowledge Management, upskilling and mitigating the critical persons risks to the service and organisation.

My knowledge of process mapping, critical paths and the Kaizen approach to continuous improvements  are utilised regularly and I am coaching the team to use these skills an tools themselves to support a cultural shift towards self solving problems where appropriate.

Education Support Officer Service Improvement

As Business Improvement Project Manager for Workforce and OD, I undertook work for the Transformation board to aid multi service business transformation. I completed the APM Foundations Certificate to formalise the project management skills I have developed.  I effectively gather requirements, define outcomes and activities, design and develop interventions to meet these outcomes, and monitor progress and effectiveness of the work streams. During this time, I managed multiple projects I have undertook Data analysis, developed corporate initiatives and facilitated the development of strategy and change management.

The main portion of my work was in Service Workforce Planning and Process Improvements. WFP is an often challenging area due to the resource planning, modeling and change management of teams. However my facilitation, interpersonal and coaching skills have allowed me to deliver successful workshops, challenging managers to place the client at the heart of the work, and the subsequent true needs of the service workforce be implemented. Workforce planning also involves discussions around Training Needs analysis and people development opportunities encompassed by Learning and Development (L&D) umbrella. I facilitated and produced work plans, actions and was accountable for these. 

Process mapping included working with individuals to identify barriers and waste and create effective new or revised processes. this was done collaboratively 

In addition to the internal workforce planning, I have been undertaking strategic and operational work with my place on the Joint Workforce Group for the Powys Joint Health and Care Strategy, I have aided the facilitation, engagement and development of the workforce element of the strategy, which is the first of its kind in Wales. This has involved significant collaborative working with Powys teaching Health Board, Emergency Services and voluntary sectors substantial volunteer workforce contribution to Health and Social Care.

I worked with young people at risk of offending or exclusion from school through mentoring, strategic intervention planning and delivery, and working with their family, schools and community to reduce the likelihood of offending or exclusion and promoting positive behaviours.

Coaching the Academy and County U16 players in skills and game play. I also acted as lead coach for the B squad for the fixtures played as the county.

I am currently working on an number of projects to increase S+C availability to County Standard Athletes in the Area and looking to run Sport Specific Workshops for coaches in key areas of performance in their chosen sports.
