- Currently working in the collaborative and agile software team as a UI Designer by creating new and improved user interfaces for Veracity's digital cybersecurity products and web app, which focus on preventing bad bots from attacking websites.

- I have also used this opportunity to learn about various technologies (such as Javascript and React), to make it easier to collaborate with the rest of the team, as well as taking the initiative to learn more about cybersecurity and UI/UX design, which has allowed me to grow within the role.

- I currently use the collaborative software Jira, Discord, and Zoom to work remotely in agile sprints, and I also use Figma to create over 90% of the designs (by using design systems and adhering to brand guidelines) for different web user interfaces within the web app.

- Other responsibilities involve carrying out design research, carrying out UI/UX reviews for the app, and designing print material to be used within the company.

- This job originally started out as an 8 week graduate internship (provided by the University of Huddersfield) that was designed to last between July and September 2023, but after exceeding expectations throughout those 8 weeks, I successfully completed the internship and became a full time member of the team.

- I attended regular meetings where I implemented various ideas and feedback gained from the people on my course

- I successfully collaborated on an idea with a senior member of staff on making placement years more accessible and widespread to undergraduate students

- I facilitated open days, where I informed prospective students about the support they could get regarding self-employment, emphasising on the fact that they could also gain transferrable skills

- I ran events, where I informed current students, staff, and university alumni about the support they could get regarding entrepreneurship

- Spoke to over 200 people in total on open days, both on two separate occasions

- Encouraged students, staff, and alumni to know more about the Enterprise Team by promoting events that were hosted by the team

- I lead the process of reviving the Enterprise Team's newsletter, released monthly, by creating engaging content, along with designing the overall layout to fit with the HudEnterprise brand

- I worked as an illustrator on a freelance basis by responding to various client briefs, some which can't be disclosed or discussed due to signing Non Disclosure Agreements as part of certain briefs

- I also developed my skill set, where I gained skills in Customer Service, Negotiation, Networking and Entrepreneurship, as well as developing current skills including, but not limited to, Adobe Creative Cloud, Communication, and Illustration

- I worked in the fast-paced Despatch department, where I carried out activities such as picking and packing

- I constantly met and exceeded targets, where I had a proven track record of efficiency above 78%

- I also worked Stock Control, where I organised and replenished large amounts of stock, along with carrying out other roles including, but not limited to, the use of pallet jacks in order to move large pallets of items from one location to another, and relabelling items with defective barcodes

- Additionally, I have been a Pick Up Drop Off (PUDO) Marshall, where I reported to the Team Manager on a designated floor, and kept various locations and workspaces clear

- I became a permanent employee of the company in December 2021 following on from exceeding targets during Peak Week, the company's busiest time of the year

Warehouse Operative

- I did a placement year with the Enterprise Team at the University of Huddersfield, which was a part of my degree, where I used the opportunity to start my own business within the Digital and Creative industries, as well as exploring self-employment and freelancing

- The main aspects of the placement year involved activities including, but not limited to, creating a detailed business plan, carrying out extensive market research, allocating budgets, and networking

- I generated monthly reports where I discussed the placement year, along with what I learned, and what I would do differently

- I also attended monthly meetings and weekly pitching sessions, where I gained advice on how to deliver effective presentations, as well as having the opportunity to improve my marketing skills

- I gained my first client during this period, where I was able to negotiate a price and time frame for an externally set project

- I successfully ensured that the items were listed effectively and accurately online, by using Magento in order to carry out essential and fundamental database administration tasks, along with being introduced to fullstack web development and SEO on a very simple level
