I have always been a sociable person whether that be at school, university, at the rugby club or at work and I pride myself on my ability to build and maintain relationships both personally and professionally. This has helped me hugely during the early stages of my surveying career as being able to communicate effectively with people is at the centre of what I do. As a commercial property agent at one of the most successful and highly respected surveying firms in Scotland, my primary role was the leasing, disposal and acquisition of office and industrial properties in the Greater Glasgow area. These processes involve meetings, discussions, negotiations, phone calls (and, more recently, zoom calls) with a wide variety of people and professions which has developed my people, time-management, customer care, listening and selling skills, among others. When I'm not running around the streets of Glasgow with a measuring tape and distometer, I love to watch rugby (despite being Scottish), paint, listen to podcasts and keep fit at my local CrossFit gym.
