At Taskforce Agency, we take a different approach.

Option 1: Account management

I can take the strategy and management of the account completely off your hands. Beforehand, I will carry out a (free) account audit to identify the bottlenecks. In doing so, we set short-term and long-term objectives together. Based on the action points and objectives, I will (re)structure and optimise the account. This is an ongoing process. Every month, I prepare a report with the findings and action points. We discuss this in the frequency desired. I want to show my added value on a monthly basis, so I do not work with notice periods or fixed contracts. In addition, I use a transparent performance-based pricing model in which the output is leading. So no hourly billing:)

Option 2: Coaching for agencies or marketing departments.

I provide in-house (or virtual) training to your marketing department or stakeholders during which we make in-depth analyses of the current setup. In doing so, we will jointly draw up action points that we will then implement in practice. In doing so, I will share my working methods, best practices, hacks and routines. 

Option 3: Account Audit / Second Opinion

Once I have gained access to the account, I can perform a comprehensive analysis from which action points will follow that will improve the performance of the account. We will prioritise these action points in consultation in order to make an impact as quickly as possible. If you are unable or unwilling to take up these points yourself, I can realise them for you.

Last month, we informed our clients about new features in Google Merchant Center that help you showcase your brand more effectively across different placements. 

You can now upload videos, images, and a brand description, so Google doesn’t have to scrape this content from your website. 

Scraped content often doesn’t present your brandstory in the best light, which can affect how your brand comes across.

(GMC > Marketing > Brand)

In addition, standard settings like uploading a logo remain essential. 

Our expert, Björn Tang, noticed that your logo can now appear in the shopping results, a missed opportunity for brands that haven’t enabled this yet.

(Fun fact: during audits we conduct, this setting is missing in at least half of the cases.)

This year so far, I have had the opportunity to audit 27 Google Ads accounts. 

What I keep seeing more and more of is that advertisers are finally using advanced scripts to segment their PMax or Shopping campaigns.

Think of tools like the Producthero Labelizer or similar scripts or even more advanced setups that segment products based on real unit economics and business KPI's, like price benchmarks, return rates, size availability, sales velocity, and so on. 

We first introduced this strategy in 2023 with great success, and it’s great to see so many advertisers now embracing it.

But here is the issue. 

After the initial setup, most advertisers just leave it as it is. 

And that is exactly where things break.

Google pushes updates every single week. 

If you don’t check your setup regularly, your entire structure can collapse without you noticing. 

Especially during sale periods like Black Week, when your segmentation and automation need to be at their absolute best, a broken script can cost you a lot of profit.

I check my setup once a week. 

During peak periods, I do it even more often.

If automation is part of your strategy, maintaining it has to be part of your routine too.

My routine:

• Check segmentation settings in external tooling (like PH)
• Check additional feeds in Google Merchant Center
• Check imports in your feed management software
• Check error log in your script settings (in gAds)
• Check labels in Google Merchant Center
• Check feed management rules
• Check output spreadsheets

Note to all Blackfriday PPC Warriors: 

→ Don't forget to check your Google Merchant Center extensively this week

Below is a textbook example of why you MUST check your GMC on days like this. 

Last year at BFCM we saw a significant increase in performance in the days before Black Friday. 

Beginning the day before BF, we've seen a substantial increase in rejections, with 90% of the products not making the cut. 

This calls for immediate action. 

Luckily we could solve the issue within a few clicks. 

→ Your routine each morning this week should include checking the GMC Diagnostics.

For this reason, utilizing the product protection function in GMC is also a must. 

This ensures that you get an email notification when X% is rejected for any reason.

Coupon codes might look like a quick win, but during previous Blackweeks, we noticed they often end up hurting conversions instead.

Here’s why:

→ Shoppers spot your discount code, but by the time they check out, they’ve forgot the code.

→ They leave the checkout page to hunt for the code again… and often don’t come back.

Or worse, 

they find a competitor instead.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁? 

A simple code can turn into a conversion killer.

It could drain your budget without generating any sales. 

For this reason, at Taskforce™ we aren't fans of coupon codes. 

But if you have no choice;  Here’s a quick fix: 

Keep the code always in sight, right through your PDP's and Checkout. 

Banner it across those pages so they never have to hunt for it.

Most e-commerce platforms even have plugins that make this super easy to set up.

What if your “dip in growth” turns out to be a sign you’re doing things right?

In November, we noticed a slight slowdown in growth at Taskforce™. 

The first time in a year and a half. 

After a deep dive, it’s turned out to be nothing to worry about, and here’s why;

During our weekly MT meetings, we always take time to look beyond the day-to-day operations and review our performance against our ambitious goals.

Behind the scenes, Bernt has built a powerful and smart CMS from scratch that lets us track all our key metrics, including financials and progress toward our targets.

In our last meeting, the numbers showed a slight dip in revenue growth.

Of course, this hit us. 

After a deeper look, we found the cause: two consultancy projects had stopped, and one mid-sized client had left.

Of course, that stings a little at first, but in this case, there was really no reason to be disappointed.

Here’s the thing: those two consultancy projects had naturally come to an end.

What many people might not know is that, alongside managing our partners’ ad accounts day-to-day, we also train around 15 PPC marketing agencies and in-house teams to help them reach the level they’re aiming for. 

It’s a proposition we’re really proud of. 

But naturally, once teams are fully up to speed, they don’t always need our help anymore; they gain the confidence to handle things on their own. 

Of course, we always stay in the loop for when they need us again.

Mission accomplished if you may say so, even if it still feels a bit strange.

As for losing a client, that’s something that can happen and sometimes beyond our control.  That is part of the game. 

As long as we know we’ve done everything we can to support them proactively and provide real value, we’re at peace with it. 

If the best next step for them lies elsewhere, we’ll gladly help them make that move.

Luckily, we’re kicking off WAY exciting new projects in December, so there’s no time to sit still. I like to dive into it the next time! Very exciting stuff.
