Worked as an Auditor Senior performing various engagements for clients. This position was a remote working opportunity from Cape Town, South Africa. I was involved in leading various teams in a variety of audits, most prominently in the retail industry, with mining clients as well.

Yes…you heard it right😎

You don’t want to be that guy.

It sounds good on paper…

But it means:

-> You aren’t learning as much
-> You can get complacent
-> You won’t work as hard

And it’s only a matter of time before mother earth come fetches you from Cloud 9😂

Rather make sure you:

✅ Surround yourself with people 2 steps ahead of you.

✅ Become a knowledge sponge.

✅ Learn from your experiences. Learn from others.

✅ Stay grounded.

✅ Have a growth mindset.


And maybe this is just me…feeling like I have loads to learn.

But I definitely see so much value in surrounding yourself with people who are where you want to be😃

As they say: 

The difficulty is not getting to the top,
The difficulty is staying there🚀

Surround yourself with winners.

Here’s my unpopular opinion:

Disagreement is good!

There, I said it!😅

I get it.

-> You are scared of conflict.
-> You don’t want to upset the apple cart.
-> You want to remain in the good books.
-> You are scared to speak.

I feel like that too.

But here’s the thing:

✅ We need to speak up.

Disagreement is not a life sentence.

-> Disagreement creates healthy debate.
-> Disagreement is thought provoking.
-> Disagreement can lead to better ideas.
-> Disagreement strengthen you.

So next time…don’t be afraid to disagree🚀😎

Here’s a random thought…

Before you experience it, you’ll never truly understand it🤔

As they say…experience is the best teacher!

Prime example:

I always wanted to live abroad.

Because I believed it would be better than back in South Africa 🇿🇦

I was convinced when I do move abroad I’ll never ever return, because it’s a mess there at times.

And then one day I realised the “dream” of moving abroad.

Not once, but twice.

-> Bermuda 🇧🇲
-> Australia 🇦🇺

But here’s the thing…

✅ I still feel like South Africa (specifically Cape Town) is it. That’s home 🏡

So where does experience come in?

Well…if I never experienced living abroad:

-> I would have never figured out that Cape Town is actually not so bad.

-> I would never have learnt that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

-> I would never have figured out what I wanted.

And that’s exactly it.

You need to experience something to:

1️⃣ Appreciate what you have
2️⃣ Figure out what you want

So it was a necessary step to figure myself out and grow as a person😎

Moral of the story:

If in doubt, have a crack at it and then decide😉

You can get the best out of yourself🚀

You need to be:

-> Mentally there.
-> Physically there.

You need to be on the ball!

But that’s not always easy.

And that’s where we should build:

✅ Resilience

Resilience to be good enough even when you aren’t at your best!!

That’s the real sign of progress.

But how do you build resilience?

Here’s how I did it:

1️⃣ Stand up

When you fail. Stand up and go again.

2️⃣ Build Confidence

Feeling secure with who you are will give you strength.

3️⃣ Have a strong support system

It’s in the difficult times when you need your loved ones the most.

Have a strong team behind you.

How do you get the best out of yourself?😉

When is the last time you looked in the mirror?🤔

For me…it’s been a while.
I didn’t want the mirror to break😂

Jokes aside though…

When did you last look in the mirror?🪞

What do you see?

Hopefully yourself😎

But here’s the point:

✅ BE AUTHENTIC

Be you.
Be different.
Stand out your way.

These days we are all trying to “fit in”.
Go with the next social trend.
Don’t ruffle the feathers.

But you’ll get nowhere like that.
People will see through you.

Just be the authentic you.

And watch you network like a champ😎

Here’s the thing…

Mindset.
Drive.
Discipline. 
Work Ethic.

They are great.
You need them.

But NONE of it means anything, if you don’t have:

✅ Goals🚀

Goals are the direction for all of it!

Without direction they don’t mean much.


And I am learning that the hard way!

I used to have two big goals:

1️⃣ Become an international athlete.
2️⃣ Become a Chartered Accountant.

It was difficult to achieve them.

But, I had a roadmap and destination.

I had something to work towards.

And guess what:

-> I achieved those goals as a result.

It’s what happened after that is teaching me lessons.

-> Where to now?
-> What next?

Kind of a bit of limbo😐

And that’s because I haven’t set new goals.

I am not working towards anything.

-> It makes you lazy.
-> It makes you comfortable.
-> It makes you depressed.

Moral of the story:

✅ Set Goals!

It makes life worth living.
It gives you purpose.
It makes you want to wake up.
It elevates you as a person.

Let’s get it😎🚀

STOP being a sheep!!! 🐑

-> Stop trying to fit in.
-> Stop doing what everyone does.
-> Stop following.
-> Stop copying.

Unless obviously you want a copyright claim on you life…

We don’t want that😂

It’s time to stand up and be you!

There is enough other people in the world.

But there is only one you!

And that’s your biggest differentiator…

✅ YOU!!!

There is nobody else like you.

So use that to your advantage😎

Every day I write, I get closer🚀

-> I gain clarity
-> I get reminded of the goal
-> I learn new things

Your journey is not always straight.

It’s filled with ups and downs.

And that’s what makes it exciting.

You create your own path.

✅ Some days are great.
✅ Some days are a struggle.
✅ Some days you win.
✅ Some days you learn.

But everyday you get closer to your destination!

Even when it doesn’t feel like it!

For various reasons.

-> It’s a time to relax.
-> A time to do what you love.
-> A time to recharge.

But it’s also a time to…

✅ Reflect

Because you shouldn’t wait until the weekend to do what you love!

So have that reflection time.

It’s an amazing way to put everything in perspective.

It can be difficult.
It can be uncomfortable.

BUT…

It will be eye-opening😃

It provides you with the opportunity to take a step back.

-> Reassess your situation.
-> Figure out your next steps.
-> See what you want.

So use your weekends wisely!

And let’s not just live for them the whole time😉

Your mind is amazing 🧠

I realised this for probably the 1 millionth time yesterday😅

It can take you to the highest high.
It can take you to the lowest low.

It’s that powerful.

And we need to keep control…

Because unfortunately the default is low.

Especially in these times.

We thrive on negativity!

But you, and I, need to make the choice.

Think positive🚀

Do positive self talk.

Beat the negative thoughts.
Lock them down.
Throw them out the window😎

✅ Keep encouraging yourself
✅ Keep working towards your goal
✅ Keep looking forward

Don’t get bogged down in a rut…it doesn’t work (I know since I do it sometimes🙄)

P.S. What’s a positive thing that happened to you this week?

Are you living life on stopwatch mode??🤔

You know.

The mode where you always feel:

-> Rushed
-> Pressured
-> Stressed

Because of time⏳

For sure. Time is your most important asset.

And you should not waste it.

But you should not stop enjoying life, because of time.

Or cut activities short because of time.

That’s counterproductive.

It’s negative.

It’s depressing.

And that’s something I struggle with.

I constantly feel pressured by time.

And it affects me.

The one thing that does work for me is:

✅ Forgetting about time

That’s when you can truly enjoy.
You can truly do proper work.
You can truly move forward.

That’s how I experienced it!

Yes, life doesn’t really work like that.

But the more timeless experiences I can get the better!

Get that ratio to 50/50 of even better!

It makes a huge difference😎

So make the most of your time and experiences😉

You can only wear the mask so long😎

Before you need air.
Before you need to be yourself again.

Let’s get it straight:

▶️ Pretending is hard, hard work😅

Your essentially living two lives.

And as you go…you are bound to slip up.

-> People will pick it up.
-> People will sense your aura.

It won’t go unnoticed.

Your “honeymoon phase” clock is ticking⏳

But there’s a cheat code…

That will make everything easier.

And that is:

✅ Stop pretending!

Stop being someone you are not…

Just to please others.

We want to see the real you.

That’s what sets you apart.
That’s what draws people to you.
That’s what makes you unique.

You know what to do😉

Here’s something that we all hate to hear…

🚀 There is a lesson in everything!

Yes…you know it irritated you.

You didn’t get what you wanted.
You failed at something.
You messed up.

And then someone comes and say…

“Don’t worry, there’s a lesson in everything”

Wow does that boil the blood😂

But there it is…It’s the truth!

It really is that thing of…

✅ You either win or you learn!

And that’s a difficult mindset shift to make.

I still struggle with it.

But if you can trick your brain into believing it, you’ll see some improvements.

You’ll start leveling up.

So everytime it gets difficult remind yourself that worst case scenario is you’ll learn something😉

So you are a master procrastinator😎

You never get done what you need to.

Let me tell you why:

-> What you are doing is boring😂

Just kidding, although it’s true.

But on a serious note…

Procrastination is difficult. 
It hits all of us.

And let’s be real, everything we do will at some point not be fun!

So here’s the key to get better:

✅ Work in short bursts.

30 mins at a time.
Walk around for 5 mins.
Go again.

Do that and watch your productivity rocket🚀

That’ll be 50 bucks thank you!😉😅

Sorry, but this post is for me…

Because I need to hear it😅

-> Stop rushing.
-> Stop being impatient.

If it’s not instant gratification you don’t want it.

And maybe this is me just being paranoid.

Paranoid about the sands of time⏳

Trying to make the most of it.

But here’s the thing:

✅ Good things take time
✅ If it’s worth it, it won’t be instant

Working towards something is better anyway than just getting it given to you!

So I need to start:

1️⃣ Being patient with life
2️⃣ Trust the process
3️⃣ Realize I have more time than I think
4️⃣ Enjoying the journey
5️⃣ Keep chipping away each day

It sounds simple, but it’s actually difficult😅

So, if you are as impatient as yours truly…

Get on the bandwagon😂

And start Practicing Patience😎
