In 2017 I lost 100lbs in 9 months. Developing a resilient mindset is something I actively practice daily. I'm someone who's self-competitive and will push myself to do better regularly. At the beginning of my career, I spent 8 years in a highly competitive, commission-based, nationally-ranked sales role with FutureShop (a high-end brick-and-mortar Canadian retailer). After success in sales across multiple departments, personal development, and participating in a voluntary after-hours leadership group offered by the GM - I was promoted in a Sales Manager role. Over the course of 4 years, this lead me to managing a team as a large as 40, with a P&L responsibility of up to $32M annually. The leadership experience gained in this role was tremendous as FutureShop invested regularly in training it's people. I set a goal for myself to transition from Retail into B2B in the Software/Services realm. I left a successful career in the retail space and joined as an Account Executive at Ricoh Canada. The chance to transition into an Account Executive Software/Services role was presented by a recruiter in 2015 and I took a role with AVG. Just prior to doing so, a colleague of mine and I had started developing a web-platform similar to AutoTrader or Kijiji. After developing it for 3 years I took a risk and pursued it full time. As a sales consultant, I worked with the largest endpoint security provider in the world, a hand-full of small businesses, and my final client hired me as Contract CEO. With the successful closing/exit of the business as CEO, a former boss/friend introduced me to Peak Sales Recruiting. The opportunity for me, was to round out my skill set in assessing and hiring top sales talent for SMB to Mid-Market High-tech organizations. The opportunity came to me in 2020 to join a high-profile Cyber Security startup, Field Effect. I was very fortunate to join as the first salesperson, and have taken over a Major Accounts role in our Partner Channel.
