•Developed and oversaw implementation of 787 Quality Engineering training matrices, curriculum, and skill sprints to enhance on-boarding for all quality engineers and upgrade skill levels.
•Optimized skill development through successful implementation of standard work and collaboration with commercial and defense business counterparts.

Quality Engineering Manager | 787 Program

•Selected by Vice President of 787 Operations to lead a 10 member cross functional team in support of a key enterprise initiative to produce a 100% defect free airplane with 100% first pass quality. 
•Executed 26 continuous improvement initiatives resulting in 25% reduction in ergonomic injury risk and 95% reduction in defects generated in automation cell. 
•Revised engineering tolerance allowance zones as part of a cross functional defect elimination effort, creating an opportunity to reduce a top defect driver on the 787 program by 70% and avoid 18.4 hours of recurring rework.

Enterprise Special Project Leader | 787 Composite Fabrication

•Guided a seven member cross functional team to drive lean process improvement and flow reduction activities within Composite Fabrication.
•Successfully led and completed 30+ process improvement projects resulting in 22.8 hours of recurring labor reduction and $92K in annual material reduction.

Value Stream Team Leader | 787 Composite Fabrication

•Supported 787 Vice President of Operations and oversaw individual operating rhythm, strategic calendar planning, and strategic initiatives in support of accomplishing business goals and objectives for a 3,000 member organization.
•Coordinated and executed 3 major initiatives effectively amongst a cross functional executive team.

Chief of Staff | 787 Operations

•Managed financial portfolio, risks, and opportunities for all 787 Perishable Tools & Shop Supplies (PTSS) totaling $45M.
•Executed a site wide safety glass transition project from Point of Use (POU) bins into PPE vending machines, generating an 82% consumption reduction and expected $1M cost avoidance through the life of the 787 program.
•Implemented monthly Long Range Business Plan (LRBP) reporting cadence across all Manufacturing Business Unit (MBU) Leaders in order to maintain visibility of PTSS cost portfolio and drive process improvement activities.

The Business Career Foundation Program (BCFP) is a highly competitive, fast paced and challenging two year rotational program that consists of six different rotation assignments within various business units and functions at The Boeing Company. Each rotation lasts approximately four months and encompasses fundamental areas of finance and business development.

•Prepared, proposed, and negotiated annual maintenance contracts to prospective clients.
•Successfully sold two annual maintenance contracts to prospective clients, resulting in nearly $6,000 in new business.
•Identified prospective clients through execution of 80+ on site cold call visits per month.
•Managed aging receivables accounts for five offices, dealing with over 300 customers, resulting in $180,000 reduction of receivables.

Otis Elevator Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of United Technologies, headquartered in Farmington, CT. Otis does business across the globe in over 200 countries, and is one of the safest companies in the world.

As a Business Development intern, I received excellent exposure to various facets of Otis' operations to include aging receivables, sales, logisitics, and maintaining customer relationships.

•Reduced aging receivables accounts in Charleston and Myrtle Beach markets by 8.1% <2 months, acquiring over $60,000 in receivables >90 days.
•Launched a recapture program, “We Want You Back”, to regain non-contractual customers to Otis.
•Identified prospective customers through executing cold calls throughout the Charleston area.
•Generated leads via cold call visits, identifying over $300K worth of potential recapture and modernization jobs.

Shippin’ off to Boston today for the 128th running of The Boston Marathon on Monday!

Similar to last year, I placed the celebration jacket in my closet where I keep all of my running gear to see it everyday, as a reminder, to embrace the journey.

In the running world, these jackets from the World Major Marathons are not a fashion statement but rather a symbol of commitment to the craft.

I love seeing this jacket especially on the days when running is the last thing I want to do.

You don’t win in your comfort zone or by waiting for “motivation.” It’s often far from comfortable and motivation isn’t always there waiting for you…

Putting this out with the intention to inspire at least one person to:
💥 Embrace the journey
💥 Seek & appreciate discomfort

A perfect morning…

Prioritize movement, reflection, and a challenge.

It doesn’t need to be a run, this just so happens to work well for me.

Mornings at the track or on the road clear up the mind for the day before the majority of the world wakes up and provides an opportunity to reflect on the present and the future.

A 2019 study in the British Journal of Sports Medicine (BJSM) found that morning movement improves attention, visual learning, and decision-making.

We have the opportunity to create anything that we want to in this life, and I’ve found through my work in the personal development field that the thing that stops most people is all of the noise in their head.

Find an activity that gets you moving, and commit to it regularly. You’ll clear the noise, and feel great 💥
