When I was eleven years old, I founded a nonprofit called Charitable Crusaders. It started as a pact between my friends and me to get involved in service. In high school, I failed an entire grade level due to attendance. No matter how fake it sounds, my friends and I would skip school to feed people experiencing homelessness and engage in other charitable endeavors. I always hated being in a classroom when there were real, solvable issues just outside. In my junior year of high school, I was humbly awarded and acknowledged by former Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump for the work I’ve been privileged to do. These moments, though meaningful, are not what I hold dearest. They remind me of the real reward: the opportunity to make a difference and the ongoing mission to foster compassion in our communities. I (somehow) got a full ride to TCU — my Dream school, but after experiencing some diversity-related issues, I ended up walking away from a $250,000 scholarship. My life has been largely shaped by an unshakeable foundation of values: hard work, philanthropy, and ambition — instilled in me by my (legendary) single mother. Today, I am the founder of dream: success, a charity working to bring education to children around the world.
