My journey started in my family business, where I helped turn our $21 million company around and sell it in 2014 for eight figures to a competitor. I have spent the last decade on a mission trying to figure out what we could have done differently—creating more sustainable cash flow, growing the equity value, mitigating taxes, and decoupling my day-to-day job are just a few. 🤦🏻 My ten-year therapy session led me to create multiple businesses, start a podcast, travel around the US speaking on hundreds of stages to share my story (Visgage, EO, industry associations, etc.), and create a training program for owner-operators (over 1,500 have experienced the material). I realized there are plenty of frameworks out there on how to operate "work in" the business (e.g., EOS©), but I couldn't find any systems that focused on helping owners "work on" the business and what it really meant to own a company. As a result, I created the Independence by Design™ Framework, which is the complete ownership system for owner-operators. It helps you generate sustainable cash flow, grow the equity value of your business, and free yourself from the day-to-day so you can have the independence to do more of what you love. I still speak, podcast, teach via my workshops, and have a coaching program called the Independent Accelerator™ which helps owner-operators get unstuck from the day-to-day so they can do more of what they love.
