I spent 13 months in the Private Equity Real Assets group at State Street where I gained experience in Private Equity/Real Estate, Investran, and waterfall calculations.

- I onboarded and managed over 10 Private Equity and Real Estate Funds and related feeders and 
  lending/borrowing entities.  I created and managed the initial fund workpaper packages and created 
  reporting in Report Wizard.

- Managed a  group of accountants, worked with them to try an achieve the goals set out for them, and 
  teaching them the processes to effectively complete the duties requested.

- Calculated and reviewed borrowing documents for the related funds, quarterly financial statements, and waterfall calculations (Total Return and Deal By Deal).

Prepare the books and records for multiple companies and consolidate them for financial purposes.

Work on the Broker/Dealer books and records and work with the FINRA representative for the month end closes

Create financial statements for the multiple entities and create consolidated financials.

Work on budgets - forecasting and historical, identify waste and cut costs.

Preparing/reviewing monthly closing procedures and ensuring compliance with established accounting procedures and controls including all fund expenses are accrued timely and in accordance with GAAP

Create standard operating procedures (SAS 70), checklists, training for monthly processes such as NAV packages and complex allocations. 

Manage relationships with the client, auditors, brokers, and internal teams such as investor services, tax, and financial statement groups.

Interviewed/hired prospective employees and perform written and verbally reviewed staff under my management on a quarterly/annual basis.

Engaged in many successful audits and financial statement releases by creating supporting schedules, and managing the information.  Reviewed financial statements, footnotes, and schedules in order to provide an accurate package to present to the auditors.

Investor Services - Global Transfer Agency Platfo  Allocations Integration

Joined a project team as the global business lead for fund accounting that created a global transfer agent platform with an integrated allocation platform with complex management and incentive fee structures.

Create business requirement documents and other ad hoc reports in relation to the project, create test scripts for the group to follow when testing the product or multiple funds for proof of concept.

Run focus groups within the multiple locations in order to gather all of the appropriate information for the project.  Work with IT group to implement project phases.

Special Projects

Run a forensic accounting project on a bank account with little controls.  Design controls and create a report on the different possibilities of fraud.

Create an independent report on the private equity fund allocations process, trace back and recreate the process, and add recommendations to create a leaner process.
