As an integrative counsellor, I'm currently supporting the mental health needs of people living with or recently diagnosed with HIV or people at risk. I am developing policies and processes for the counseling service at the WA AIDS Council and measures for evaluating the service for government based funders. In addition, I am a provider with Spring Health, an Employee Wellness Program, where I serve employees in the UK and Australia. As a public health professional for almost 10 years, I became seasoned in leading initiatives around stakeholder management and communications, policy development and analysis, and project design and review. The ethos of my early public health career was generalist and rooted in advocating for resourceful, evidence-based health policy and program interventions in low and middle income countries across a wide range of infectious disease and noncommunicable disease areas. This led me to find my passion in mental health counselling and to be uniquely positioned with special knowledge and experience in transcultural practice. I am grateful for my international experiences. Ideally, I hope to bridge these worlds. Until then I am building my counseling space, immersing in the clinical side of mental health, and using my public health perspective to maintain evidence-based approaches here in Australia.
