As the sector CIO, Sabina was accountable for the services delivered to vulnerable Albertans through the ministries of Children’s Services, Community and Social Services, and Seniors and Housing in the Government of Alberta.  She was appointed to lead this sector transformation based on her collaboration and relationship capabilities and her broad experience with strategic planning, change management, and governance.

Shared Services Canada | Services partagés Canada

In her role at Shared Services Canada (SSC), she helped transform how the Government manages its information technology (IT) infrastructure by strategically aligning the Government’s services to their organizational objectives. With SSC being national in scope, she worked collaboratively with employees located in other government departments and agencies. 
Highlights include:
•	Collaborated with regional peers to develop and implement a new regional model in the current virtual, operational structure.
•	Performed regular outreach and engagement with ~350 SSC regional based employees, Federal Councils, IT Communities, regional senior officials, and third parties.
•	Led the implementation of a new National Service Delivery function in the region, providing localized IT services to federal partners; this was the first organization to be established as part of the SSC end-state, being a major change and communications initiative blending staff from 43 departments-to use one service desk based on ITIL standards.

Appointed to the CIPS Alberta Executive Board and assumed position of Past-President, but more importantly as the Chair of the Amalgamation Task Force.  In this role, led the three sections in the amalgamation to one professional organization under CIPS Alberta. This period targeted governance, operational processes, and collaboration with Edmonton, Red Deer and Calgary sections, along with members-at-large of both certified and regular members.
