Multi Unit Franchisee of A&W Canada

•	Lead the implementation of a profit improvement plan resulting in a 1% improvement in food cost variance and an overall reduction of 1%, resulting in food cost saving of $100K.

•	 Introduced an overall company structure with clear assignment of roles & responsibilities with structured employee reviews. 

•	Overhauled the compensation plan for restaurant managers introducing a bonus plan based on key performance indicators.

•	Worked closely with A&W head office and contractors to coordinate the renovation of an existing restaurant and construction of a new Urban restaurant in Toronto.

•	Introduced a weekly performance dashboard which tracks key performance indicators and a weekly video conference with restaurant managers.

Director Of Operations

Station Bar & Kitchen

•	Oversaw the transition of the business from a Café to a Bar & Kitchen concept, expanding the food and drinks offering.

•	 Launched the first Keto menu in Toronto to serve the needs for consumers looking for Low carb food and drink options. Widely lauded by the Toronto news media as the best Keto restaurant.

•	Developed a robust revenue growth strategy which included organizing live interactive events featuring local artists and musicians. Created a hub for hosting meetups, arts and craft events such as paintnite, book clubs, networking events. 

•	Successfully acquired a new patio license and managed the creation of a patio adding 30 seats and creating a new revenue stream for the summer season.

•	Redesigned the patio for greater curb appeal with a custom made mural, water feature as well as metal art and sculptures.

•	Lead the creation and implementation of an operating system for food safety, restaurant cleanliness, inventory and ordering.

Co-owner

•	Researched the urban business opportunities for A&W, identified critical success factors and guest traffic drivers to improve site selection.  

•	Successfully site selected, negotiated leases for multiple Urban A&W restaurants which exceeded their sales targets.

•	Studied and identified target neighborhoods to develop A&W’s market development plan to open 10 new Urban restaurants every year.

•	Engaged with landlords and brokers on shortlisted sites to create a steady pipeline of prospective sites in various stages of negotiation.

•	Conducted site presentations of shortlisted sites to prospective franchisees.

Real Estate Manager - Ontario ,

•	Managed the Multi-Unit Franchisee business for A&W in Northern Alberta with 58 restaurants and sales over $80 million.

•	 Supervised the opening of 6 new restaurants in Edmonton. 

•	Launched the strategy to transition the Edmonton restaurants to being open 24 hours. 

•	Completed 16 restaurant renovations in the business unit to improve facilities.

•	 Implemented profit improvement plans in restaurants to achieve food cost, labour cost and gross margin targets, ensuring overall business unit gross margin of over 30%.

•	 Improved guest experience in the business unit as measured by guest feedback scores, service time and brand compliance scores on operational audits. 

•	Coordinated regional marketing initiatives in Northern Alberta including Facebook campaigns, direct mail coupons and breakfast promotions aimed at growing same store sales.

Business Manager - Multi Unit (Alberta)

•	Managed the single unit franchisee business for A&W in Saskatchewan with 27 restaurants and sales of over $40 million. 

•	Oversaw the completion of 9 full restaurant renovations in rural Saskatchewan.

•	 Undertook extensive operational training of restaurant managers to ensure operational excellence and brand compliance in the business unit. 

•	Improved same store sales growth by 3% with a combination of improved operations, renovations, and marketing. 

•	First business manager to successfully use Facebook marketing in Saskatchewan to promote newly renovated restaurants and featured promotions.

Business Manager - Saskatchewan

Savenine Clothing Company

•	Established a new textile manufacturing business with first year gross revenue of over $ 500,000 

•	Worked with United Colors of Benetton as a key client and managed the successful completion of a contract manufacturing order of 12,000 jackets and 32,000 T-shirts

•	Managed end–to-end factory operations, including procurement of raw materials, design development and production planning with constant client liaison to ensure flawless execution

•	Conducted regular financial and budget analysis to monitor operational costs impacting the P&L

•	Supervised the recruitment and training of an employee base of 100+ personnel at full capacity

•	Support the development and participate in the execution of Invest Toronto’s research plan; 

•	Identify potential investment leads and opportunities in target international markets;

•	Gather qualitative and quantitative information on emerging markets, analyze this data, and draw conclusions and recommendations from this analysis;

•	Provide input into the presentation format of the research results.

•	Gather qualitative and quantitative information on the City of Toronto, the GTA, Province of Ontario and Canada ;

•	Distill business pertinent facts from government incentive programs and tax codes that would provide Toronto with competitive advantages over peer regions;

Liase with other financial institutions with the ultimate goal being the expeditious completion of account transfers.
