* I helped develop foundational capabilities for natural language and Image understanding across Expedia. Part of the mandate includes exploring integration with cutting edge tech like the up and coming GPT models.

* I developed ML powered services that provide curation, ranking, and moderation of structured and unstructured content, used by millions of travellers on the Expedia group of brands. 

* I led development and delivery of natural language understanding projects for user generated text content.

As a member of the Bell labs social dynamics team, I have been working on questions that define our relationships with data.

I primarily work on problems dealing with machine learning and statistical inference with a stress on healthcare and urbanism. The work generally involves a multi-modal approach towards modelling social behaviour using a wide array of sources of data.

Research Scientist

At Bell Labs, I worked on projects dealing with explainable A.I. ,  especially pertaining to applications in urban aesthetics and perception of emotions in urban settings. 

The project is called Urban Facelift, which facilitates transformation of urban images into a more aesthetically pleasing version of themselves, using generative deep learning. The transformations are then explained in actionable language using innovative techniques

At Firedrop, I lead the early stage research and engineering effort to design the core learning and inference engine. This engine would later morph into one of their central components.

Citrix

Design and develop conferencing and collaboration APIs for the Web and mobile. The project demanded in depth knowledge of real time communications technologies like SIP , WebRTC and some proprietary communications stacks. Several innovative API design patterns and software engineering patterns were used to accomplish a highly scalable and reliable real time communications platform for internal and external consumers.

Software Engineering I

My internship dealt with cross-compilation and modification of proprietary runtime communication libraries and Automated Testing Framework for Android Platform. The project required extensive knowledge of the design of the runtime libraries and required modification of those such that they get efficiently ported on the Android Platform. My work also dealt with solving problems in Native C/C++ using the Android NDK tool chain pertaining to the problems caused due to migration.

I have over 10 years of experience in applied research, data science, and software engineering. 

My research spans developing novel methods for interdeciplinary science, using tools from Deep learning, Computer vision, Graphs, and NLP. I have built both R&D and product solutions that have produced patents, research papers, and millions in revenue impact.

I have obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science from King's College London UK,  and a M.S. in E.C.E from University of California Santa Barbara, CA, USA.
