Dr. Saira-Christine Renteria has worked as a Senior Lecturer and Researcher at UNIL Lausanne, and a Senior Physician at the Department of Women-Mother-Child at CHUV, where she was in charge of the Psychosocial Gynecology Unit. This included the Sexual Health-Family Planning Center and the gynecological consultation for pediatric and adolescent gynecology, as well as being the medical head of the Gynecology-Obstetrics Policlinic. Her areas of interest include access to contraception and abortion, gender and domestic violence, diagnostic and care related to sexual violence, the approach to female genital mutilation in gynecological consultations, as well as women's health in all aspects of life, including work and migration situations. Actually she oversees the training of specialist physicians in psychosomatic gynecology and obstetrics on behalf of the Swiss Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology and she is actively contributing to the writing of guidelines and expert letters within the Quality Commission of SSGO.
