Duties & Responsibilities :
Issues, modifies, and closes System / Component Safety Permits as required
under this program.
Ensure required protective measures of component/system so that work
activities can be safely performed and protect both personnel and equipment.
Review Job Safety Analysis, Method Statements and Task Risk Assessment for
Worksites / Permits.
Verifies conditions are adequate for work or testing to be performed.
Ensures that equipment / system are in safe configuration after work is
completed.Conduct emergency drill relating to injuries, incidences, chemical spills and
environmental incidents.
Coordinate, schedule and conduct training for construction/testing and
commissioning team.
Regular site inspection to checking regulations implementation and
compliance.
Identify unsafe activities and advised to person in charge to insure corrective
measure to prevent any property damage or loss and personnel injury.
Investigation accidents or incidents and analysis performing cause.
Assisting Engineers to develop safe system of work and setup safe system.
Maintaining monthly records of Firefighting systems/ Power tools/Lifting
equipments /Accidents/Near miss/Property damage and Health records.

To implement Health and safety standard rules and regulation in all aspect of
safety programs.
Preparation of HIRA, Job Safety Analysis, Risk assessment.
Interface with site supervisors on daily basis to provide proactive technical
advice for field activities.
Delegate responsibilities to Junior Safety Officers and Safety Assistants to provide
effective safety monitoring and supervisor support program.
Verify safety precautions stipulated on permits to work, risk assessments and job
safety analysis are being implemented.
Verify third party certification for loose lifting gear, pressure vessels, electrical
equipment etc, is correctly color coded and being used properly.
Verify all scaffolding is tagged and safe condition.
Identify site hazards, non-conformances, corrective and preventive actions and
bring them to immediate attention of site supervision (and record).
Closely monitor high risk activities; confined space entry gas testing and air
monitoring, lifting activities, work at height, movement of abnormal loads etc.
Produce pertinent toolbox talks with assistance of responsible construction supervision including identification of proactive and reactive site issues for
communication to workforce and collection of constructive feedback.
Identify additional safety training requirements to be delivered to workforce.
Investigate unsafe acts and conditions and provide solutions to prevent
recurrence
