Some of Directional Driller Engineer Responsibilities & Duties: 
* Implement all directional drilling plans and procedures according to company plan and oversee all drilling operations of rig site and ensure compliance to all drilling objectives.

* Manage all well bore path and perform survey to compute and monitor all rate of penetration and maintain an efficient list of all directional tools and perform survey on all equipments.

* Provide assistance and training to all drilling trainees and manage all marketing and sales activities for various company products and supervise efficient working of all processes.

* Execute all survey information for processes and ensure all objectives compatibility with various results.

* Administer all directional operations and analyze performance of all drilling procedures and assist all client representatives to resolve all issues and monitor job progress and maintain records of all data and prepare required documentation.

* Maintain and ensure efficiency in maintenance of all company assets and locations and ensure adequacy of all supplies and equipment's for website and prepare records for all equipments present on rig in coordination with client representatives.

* Ensure safety in work areas at all times according to required standards and provide required training to all trainees and assess performance and administer all drilling rig operations.

* Collaborate with various departments to manage work flows for all rig projects and ensure efficient working of same and prepare schedules for all test activities on drilling rig.

* Prepare rig maintenance strategies and perform regular inspection on all drilling requirements and assist to purchase all equipments to ensure appropriate maintenance.

As a Measurement While Drilling Specialist, you ensure the drilling of an oil or natural gas well stays on target. You measure the incline of the drill, the depth of the drill and the azimuth, or direction, of the drill to develop a three-dimensional plot of a wellbore. You provide real-time data during the drilling operation, allowing Directional Drillers to properly steer a drill. Interested? Then let’s drill down further.

Measurement While Drilling (MWD) Specialists collect and interpret data that measures the trajectory of a horizontal oil or gas well as it is being drilled. Information provided by MWD Specialists provides decision-making support and allows Directional Drillers to steer the drilling operation and conform to a drilling plan. 

MWD Specialists must be able to lift the MWD tool, safely rig in and operate the equipment, perform day-to-day inspections, servicing and maintenance of equipment, and complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.

MBPS

As a Petroluem Geologist or mudlogger or Logging Geologist, you'll monitor and record drilling activity, providing information to the drilling team about a well's status during the extraction of oil or gas.

The data you collect and monitor, the 'mudlog', influences important decisions about the efficiency and placement of well sites.

You'll use a range of equipment and laboratory techniques, such as binocular microscopes, ultraviolet fluorescence and thin-section analysis, to create mud logs showing a geological record of the site being drilled.

Drilling parameters that are monitored include:

speed of rotation
rate of penetration
oil and gas shows (whether oil or gas is present)
pit levels
cutting rate
mud-flow rate.
Mudloggers ensure that accurate samples are taken at the right intervals and record any issues encountered during the drilling. They mainly work offshore and are contracted to an oil company via a service company. Less commonly, mudloggers work in water well and mineral exploration.

Mudloggers may be known as:

logging geologists
mudlogging geologists
mudlogging technicians.
Mudlogging is also known as hydrocarbon well logging.

Responsibilities
As a mudlogger, you'll need to:

work in wellsite units collecting, processing, logging and describing rock samples
use various laboratory techniques to analyse samples
monitor computer recordings of drillings
interpret information and feed it back to the data engineer and drilling team to enhance safety and success
operate and maintain a real-time computer-based data acquisition system, which records all aspects of rig activity
undertake on-site maintenance when necessary
take on the primary health and safety role for the well through constant monitoring of all critical drilling parameters
predict dangerous situations, such as over-pressured formations
assist the wellsite geologist during coring operations
provide written reports to the data engineer, drilling team and company.

Experienced professional with over a decade of invaluable expertise in the dynamic realm of the oil and gas sector. Armed with a Bachelor's degree from Sultan Qaboos University and a Master's in Management from the esteemed University of Liverpool, I have continuously sought to enhance my understanding of business and industry dynamics. Currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Plymouth, my research interests lie at the intersection of management, innovation management, and talent management and its applications within the energy sector.

In addition to my academic pursuits, I am actively engaged as a lecturer in Management at Muscat College, where I have the privilege of sharing my insights and experiences with the next generation of aspiring professionals.
