Marketing Assistant

Working in South Korea as a second language teacher was an incredible experience both professionally and personally. I worked for an agency who provided teachers to both public and private schools and a vast range of ages. During my time with the company I was responsible for managing my own schedule and planning, adapting to timetable changes and maintaining a very high standard of professionalism both inside the classroom with students and outside of the classroom with academy managers and school executives.

Teaching English as a second language to ages ranging from kindergarten to adult.

During my time on the team, I was responsible for updating the LawCareers.Net website with client information, news stories and vacancies, ensuring that all communication is on brand and on message. I regularly liaised with clients to ensure that we were delivering the best possible service and that our database was concise and accurate. 

Attending law fairs, meetings and promotional events was a fantastic opportunity for me to use my networking skills and personable manner to propel the brand name forwards and engage with future and existing clients to create and strengthen business relationships.

I was also involved with the production and distribution of The Training Contract & Pupillage Handbook, The Beginner's Guide to a Career in Law and Best in Law: Making Good Candidates Great, ensuring that they correctly reflected the information on LawCareers.Net and were efficiently distributed to Universities, Law Firms and Student Law Societies.

In addition to the website content, I was responsible for managing the social media channels for LawCareers.Net, ensuring that we were utilising the networks and engaging with students and clients to continually improve the outreach for the brand. During my time on the team, I grew the Twitter, Facebook and Instagram audience by a considerable amount and vastly improved the social media engagement for the brand.

In March 2016, I co-judged and hosted The LawCareers.Net Student Law Society Awards which was a huge success and was featured The Guardian, further improving awareness of LawCareers.Net and the awards themselves.

Working as part of a small team in Head Office, I was responsible for responding to customer enquiries via telephone, email and post, acting as the first point of contact for customers and resolving any complaints.

With the application of open questions, a constantly calm and friendly telephone demeanour and a qualification in conflict management, I was often tasked with handling the more delicate or serious customer complaints and praised for my ability to control a conversation and reach a mutually beneficial conclusion.

I'd liaise regularly with other departments in Head Office in order to improve service levels and refine central operations of the business and I was responsible for re-writing the Terms & Conditions for in-store events. I was also heavily involved with designing the Customer Service touch points for the website.

Due to my friendly, efficient and professional manner, I was entrusted with training and monitoring two new staff members, ensuring that they met and maintained the high standards I delivered. I was instrumental to their development and their progression in their individual roles.

After being taken on as an intern while studying for my degree, I proved myself to be a fantastic asset to the digital marketing team and was offered a contract until the end of the summer season. I was responsible for managing my own responsibilities and also reporting into a number of different sectors of the business. I was also flown out to resort to assist with the operational aspects of the closing party in addition to my usual responsibilities within the marketing team.

During my time as Digital Marketing Assistant with Ibiza Rocks, I was responsible for the following:

Administrative tasks including taking notes during team meetings, making travel arrangements and maintaining/organising shared company folders on Google Drive.

Updating the social networks for various strands of the business and maintaining the relevant tone. This would often involve scheduling in posts and finding good assets that would achieve a good reach.

Updating the website via the CMS with information regarding show details, line ups and artist descriptions. 

Keeping an interesting, informative and audience relevant blog on the website and sharing this across social media platforms to gain a stronger reach.

Logging press coverage and sharing good assets across the company and social networks.

Designing and following marketing plans for specific events. This involved liaising directly with artist management, in-house designers and events/venue management in resort.

Arranging press trips which involved liaising directly with journalists and documenting costs and purchase orders.

Sending regular emails to different sections of the database regarding upcoming events, travel promotions and brand partnerships.
