Having worked in media for 15+ years and qualifying as a stylist and coach, I am incredibly passionate about helping women go after the opportunities they deserve.

As I cultivated a strong personal brand and shared my outfits on social media whilst overseeing a big newspaper team, I was being asked by other women questions like:

I worked my way up to the editor's chair as a 27 year-old woman with absolutely no contacts in the media, just a sheer determination and hard work. 

I decided to combine my experience as an editor with my love of style and passion for equality. I qualified as a stylist, undertook some confidence coaching and now support women - whether they are entrepreneurs or in corporate - overcome limiting beliefs, smash their brand strategy and style, and show up as the experts they are.

Style coach for women

After Oasis on Sunday, we went to a bar to wait for the tube queues to die down.

There was only one women's bathroom (of course) so a line of about 10 of us formed.

Now - if you want to feel hyped up and make new BFFs, go stand in line for a women's bathroom.

Pretty soon we were all chatting away.

Anyway, the corridor was narrow and you had to walk by the women's bathroom to get to the men's...

Suddenly, one bloke didn't like the way some other bloke looked at him or whatever and within seconds, surprise, they're punching eachother, and their mates are jumping in.

This is happening in a narrow corridor with a line of women down it.

Do you know what the women did?

Protected eachother.

The girl next to me, who I have never met before, put her body over me to shield me from getting punched.

I was VERY close to where this fight broke out, simply standing in line for the bathroom (if only venues catered properly to us we'd have all been safe inside the actual bathroom) and I likely would have got hit had she not stepped in to protect me.

I can't stop thinking about her.

Or how about how much safer I feel in the company of women.

Just a few days earlier I had been at Kayleigh Lloyd Outragerously You awards with 99% women... and I've never felt so safe in public.

By contrast I go to an event where there are men and alcohol and I think:

--> Is my outfit OK? Or is it giving the wrong impression? 

--> Does someone know exactly where I am at all times?

--> Why does it feel like one wrong look and this whole place is going to erupt?



There are so many facets to this conversation.

We live in a society where mental health is stigmatised and there is little support, alcohol is used to numb feelings and as an unhealthy coping mechanism - people struggle with alcohol addiction but it's readily available everywhere and peer pressure makes people feel they HAVE to drink. One in 5 workers is burned out, and gender stereotypes mean men feel judged for sharing their feelings.

So an event becomes the emotional release point and then alcohol (and whatever else) makes things worse.

And this not a women vs men issue, it's a collective one.

But in my experience it's generally women who end up stepping in when sh&t happens.

I don't have a solution except to say that there is nothing shameful about going to therapy. 

I don't think the solution should have to be that good, regulated people who just want to enjoy a concert don't feel able to do that anymore, just incase it's ruined by the behaviour of others.

I'm sure in the light of day, those men would consider themselves decent people.

And I bet they haven't really thought about it since, except to be all 'yea this lad was chatting sh*t so I punched him' big lad bravado 👏👏 good for you lad.

Me? I've been thinking about how I, an innocent and sober bystander could have been punched by someone twice my size if it were not for the woman standing next to me.

When I said 'I'm going to throw a party'...

Guess who said 'I'm in, how can I help?'

Nah, it wasn't any of the big companies that ask us to speak for free on IWD.

It was other female founders running small businesses.

I knew two things about this event:

1] I wanted to make it as accessible as possible 

2] I wanted it to be in aid of Smart Works, a charity close to my heart (which you'll understand when I tell you why the event is in Oxford)

...But because I've never run an event before, I didn't understand why you make the ticket price what you make it 😂

I'm sure the attendees would have the best day simply being in a room together (have you been in a room of women like this before? The energy is electric, they could change the world)

But then I got a message from Wendy Gannon 📸 that said: 'I'm doing the photos at your event.'

And I replied: 'I can't ask you.'

And she replied: 'You didn't ask. But I'm doing it anyway.' 

And then Sophie Jane Lee Beth Hocking Rowena Wilding Sapna Pieroux Annabelle Buckland and Steph Caswell all said they were in 🥳

I knew it had to be in Oxford even though it's a pain in the butt, because this is the city of Dreaming Spires... 

and the one where when I became the editor of the local newspapers, lots of people had a lot of sh*t to say about it. 

One man sent stories about me to the Private Eye 🫠

Another cut up editions of the paper and sent them to me in a box (on more than one ocassion, weirdo) 🫠

The abuse I got online prompted one astute male colleague to say: 'You get so much more sh*t than me, and the ONLY difference between us is that you're a woman and I'm a man.'

I would hear about how people who'd never met me would talk about me at events.

And why? 

Well, I was a young woman from a council estate with my hands on something historically reserved for people like them.

One day when it got particularly bad, the ex-journo who used to look after the archives asked me to join him in the archive room.

He got out this anniversary book and flicked to the pages with photos of all the former editors.

They all looked like the same man. 

'I wonder what they'd think of you,' he said. 'I think you're doing a great job.'



I moved to this city without knowing a single soul and I found several incredible women locally doing amazing things, like Cassie Jane, Laura Brunton and Sasha Lord and Jacquie Lawes. 

I can't wait for 50 more to descend in their sparkles next week 🥳

Speaker Line-Up

I sold out my first event WITHOUT ever advertising it publicly.

I've had so many messages from people asking me for tickets since the speaker accouncement. 

There's been a waitlist of about 30 for the last 2 weeks [sorry I think everyone coming is clinging on to theirs].

I've been thinking about how, so you can use this to do something equally delusional:


1: I deliver to ridiculous levels

And that's just a freebie.

I am confident in saying that if you commit to working with me it will be a game-changer. 


2: I create ACTUAL community

I've noticed in the online space lots of talk about community... but underneath it's either a) a cult where the mentor is on a pedestal or b) a scheme to make them rich whilst everyone else stays the same.

Inside the challenge I ran in May, the money exchanging hands between women was in the thousands.

People make sales AS A DIRECT RESULT of being in my world because I create spaces where they are free to connect and encouraged to buy from one another.

I've had a free telegram community for almost a year and I never go in there, except to drop a 'get your a** up and get to work' bomb. Or to offer something useful. Or to celebrate the members. I LET IT BE THEIR SPACE.

WHY? Because when I said we need more spaces for women, I meant it. 

My clients do not doubt my commitment to my purpose, and... 


3: The purpose is the most important 

Anyone who has run an event will tell you this is not a money-making venture.

But then of course I did decide to spend a sh*t load of money on tiaras 😂

This event had to be in Oxford - for reasons I've previously explained. 

And it had to be for Smart Works Reading.

And it HAD to happen.

Everything else, I trusted I would work out.

And that's how I've felt since 3 years to the day I quit the job I had worked SO hard for because I KNEW what I was supposed to do. 

I had no clue how to run a business. Or that it would prove how much resilience I have. But I did it because I HAD to.



4: Just f*ing do it

NOTHING irritates me more than when I do something...

and someone says 'I was thinking of doing that.'

... then f*ing do it.

An idea in a notebook shoved in a drawer somewhere means nothing.

You don't get credit for trying to jump on someone else actually doing the f*ing thing.

You're not doing it because you let fear get in your way. 

Or you're thinking too small.

Work it out and go do it.


5: I am surrounded by exceptional women

Not to mention Lois Bates-Stubbs who supports me no end.

All of these women have been so generous with their time, I need to stop typing now or I'll cry.

It's 3 years since I made a decision that changed EVERYTHING 👀



And this week I'll be hosting an event for brilliant women in this very same city.

I didn't even realise the timing of it.

But wow... look how things work out when you have the courage to back yourself.

Burn Your Boat

You say you want to be a thought-leader:

But are you actually prepared for what that means?

You THINK it means having the most likes.

But it's not about being popular. 

(You should see the disparity in impressions, saves & DMs versus likes when you content is ACTUALLY leading).


It means going FIRST.

And dealing with the consequences of going FIRST.

Strangers, Linkedin connections and even people you know in your personal life will HATE you for it. 

And this is why you should work with someone who's consistently doing it.

It isn't just about WHAT you post. 

It's about the tools you have - your purpose, tenacity, conviction and self-soothing - that mean you keep going after the 1st sh*tty comment and after the 1000th.

And I know you might be thinking: Well she has 20k followers, so....

Yea - that has taken me years.

Why? Because I say the sh&t people don't like.

I make you question.

I make you think.

I change your perception on style.

And some people when they come across that, simply are not ready.

It is MUCH easier to hit 'like' on a post that doesn't challenge you at all, than it is to not turn away from one that does.

Stop making content to be liked.

Make it to change your industry.

The Truth About Thought Leadership

Personal style is a business investment.

Stop acting like it's not, it's costing you money.

If you want to:

--> Visually show a vibe shift 

--> Make sure your brand photos say exactly what you want them to say 

--> Keep evolving and growing 

You need to stop leaving this to chance.

Wardrobe is sales and marketing psychology. 

But because you've been wearing clothes forever, and your attachment to them is so deep (even when you get defensive and say it's not, yea it is - that's why you're getting defensive), you separate it from other sales and marketing tools, like your content and website.

It's actually far more important. I will die on this hill.

These are not 'I'm broke' problems.

I've worked with women making multiple 6-figures who default to the sale rail at M&S not because they LOVE the clothes...

but because they feel unworthy.

They fear it's all going to go away.

Maybe they didn't grow up with money, so they can't believe it's theirs.

Maybe they DID grow up with money, but their parents where never home so they learned wealth equals emotional abandonment.

The story is unique AND universal, because all women aged 30s-50s have grown up with the same cultural references like What Not to Wear, and 'nothing tastes as good as skinny feels,' Victoria Beckham being weighed on live TV shortly after giving birth, and magazines with the 'circle of shame.'

So when we stand in front of our wardrobes, we aren't seeing CLOTHES.

We are seeing all the ways we are wrong.

We opt for the cheapest option because we've been taught to martyr ourselves.

Wardrobe has become weopanised, when it should your place of joy.
