Samantha-Kaye Johnston 's Linkedin Analytics

A mixed methods researcher at The University of Oxford, Dr Samantha-Kaye Johnston’s research profile spans a large area covering skill development, focusing on two strands: (1) strengthening the development and assessment of skills and dispositions that support digital intelligence (e.g., critical thinking and critical reading, curiosity, autonomy) and (2) elevating the voices of young people in their ethical engagement with technology, particularly around issues related to user autonomy and responsible designs. In Research Strand 1, at The University of Oxford, she employs mixed methods approaches to study optimal environments that foster a range of digital skills. In Research Strand 2, at Harvard University’s Berkman Klein Centre for Internet and Society, she focuses on co-design approaches with young people. This strand builds on a UNESCO collaboration, in which she led a study to explore the reimagination of technology in education across 15 countries.
