With a degree in Applied Biochemistry, I initially embarked on a career in the Life Sciences, focusing on pharmacovigilance (drug safety) in the tightly regulated pharmaceutical industry. After five years in the London office of a leading Japanese pharma company, I was asked to transition to a role at their Tokyo Head Office, acting as international liaison between the Japanese, US, and UK teams. This first expat experience in Japan was an exciting immersion into a completely different culture. Next, I took a Quality Assurance role with a global pharma giant in cosmopolitan Brussels. Then it was on to Bahrain for 13 years, where I pivoted my career, utilising my transferable skills to work with the executive leadership at a premier British International school. When I returned to the UK in 2017 after 17 years abroad, I brought additional valuable skills - adaptability, resilience, emotional intelligence, cultural sensitivity, innovative problem-solving, embracing change and a global mindset. For the past seven years, I've leveraged these skills in consulting and interim business operations. Working with startup, scaleup and SME business leaders to tackle complex challenges, I've delivered targeted projects whilst also providing strategic guidance across people/HR, day-to-day operations, systems, processes, IT, compliance, and communications.
