Research And Development Engineer

Lebanon Water Project (LWP) funded by USAID

►Won a $5000 research grant offered by United State Agency for International Development (US-AID) through the Lebanon Water Project (LWP) and was the youngest grantee among the graduate and PhD students. 
►Conducted a research entitled “Feasibility of Industrial Wastewater Treatment: Legislative, Economic and Social Approach” with a case study on the Dairy Industry in Lebanon and an emphasis on SMEs.
►Conducted a detailed theoretical literature review over industrial wastewater management techniques.
►Performed direct cost studies and economic analysis on successful wastewater treatment stations at dairies in Lebanon. 
►Conducted and designed open-ended surveys passed to dairy industrialists in different rural and urban regions in Lebanon.
►Collected qualitative data from different stakeholders in wastewater management: solution providers from the private sector (innovators and entrepreneurs), officials and consultants from the relevant ministries (Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Industry, Industrial Research Institute IRI, Lebanese Cleaner Production Centre LCPC), industrialists, and independent experts in the field of wastewater management. 
►Assessed the current legal framework to evaluate whether it constitutes a rigid one, and performed a comparative study with neighbour countries in the legal scope.
►Scanned the best available technologies provided for industrial wastewater management in Lebanon in the report and presented their direct economic studies.
►Calculated the additional processing cost brought by wastewater management to assess how industrial wastewater management at small and medium dairies affects the cost of the final product. 
►Assessed all the social factors preventing industrialists from adopting greener production techniques. 
►Presented the road map for strategic solutions for industrial wastewater management.
