𝙇𝙇𝙈𝙨 (Large Language Models) is a term everyone is using nowadays, but 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆? 
 
1. First, tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini are all LLMs (Large Language Models)  
 
2. For simple understanding, LLMs become 'this smart' by absorbing a vast library of text. They learn to spot language patterns and understand context, which enhances their conversational abilities 
 
3. These systems play a guessing game where they predict the next word in a sentence. This is how they keep conversations engaging and fluid 
 
4. This ability makes them great at keeping conversations going. When you ask them a question, they sift through their extensive bank of read material to deliver relevant responses 
 
 
So, the next time someone asks you what  LLMs are advanced digital assistants, trained to understand and respond to human language with precision.

Can you really succeed without discipline and commitment?

I have just returned from a two week trip around Japan and spent some time at a top Sumo stable in Tokyo. 

I learned that the wrestlers are all under 25 and dedicate 10 years of their life to training for tournaments that occur over just 15 days each year.

They remain single and live in stables where the junior wrestlers have no income. Their daily routine is morning training, a high calorie meal, a nap, free time, afternoon training, and more free time, brefore bed by 11 pm.  They have to remain supple in order to fight and can all do box splits! 

Unlike martial arts such as Judo, the experienced and champion wrestlers wear white belts and the novices wear black belts. In the photo, the junior Sumo wrestler supports the seated senior.

Whether it is dedication to becoming a champion Sumo, or the 4 years of training to perfect a tea ceremony, perfection takes time and discipline. 

We all want to find a short cut or a ‘hack’, but often there just isn’t one. 

Accept it, and the process.

It doesn’t matter what you choose to dedicate your time, or life to, just aim to be world class at it.

Japan reminded me that discipline is a superpower that we can all wield!  🦸🏽‍♂️
