I am the founder and principal of Navig8 Professional Development Inc., an education and consulting company focused on helping firms and organizations support their employees in developing the skills necessary to navigate the workplace for professional success. A lawyer by background, I've had over 17 years working a major Bay Street law firm where I oversaw, managed and developed the firm’s substantive, wellness, diversity and inclusion, and skills-based development programs for law students, lawyers and business clients. I created the first-of-its-kind gamified experiential learning program, focused on skill integration through immediate feedback, social and group learning, relationship building, constructive reframing and individualized support. While grounded in adult learning principles, the experiential learning program incorporated the latest research and thought leadership around how our identities, values and lived experiences cannot be siloed from our learning and experiences in the workplace, and indeed inform how we relate to others, are evaluated by others and how we define success. I am passionate about the need to apply a D&I and wellness lens to professional skills programs, such as communication, teamwork, relationship building, managing others and oneself. I am driven by a purpose of helping others decode workplace norms, expectations and structures for more equitable, inclusive and supportive work environments. I've coached as part of the Law Society’s Coach and Advisor Network and am a mentor with the Richard Ivey Mentor Program as well as the Lincoln Alexander School of Law.
