I am the happiest when I'm learning and progressing.  This core value came from my mom, along with grittiness and perseverance, which served us well as an immigrant family from Taiwan.  Fun fact, I think of the multiplication table in Mandarin, because that's how I learn it as a kid.

This love of learning has driven me to let my curiosity guide my career.  Over the last 20+ years, I've led initiatives and teams for global companies including Oracle, Cisco, WebEx and PricewaterhouseCoopers.  I've developed cross-functional expertise in marketing, sales, product, professional services and customer success. The common thread in my career has been my focus on the customers.  That's why I've decided to make it my mission to help companies be more effective at driving customer-led growth and optimizing their post-sales strategy.

Here's what Singapore reminded me about building and strengthening trust.

Five quick GTM lessons from a week of reunions and first meetings:

- Face time compresses cycles.

I help Chief Revenue Officers (CROs) fix the hidden revenue leaks, keep their customers, and get them to buy more. My three be’s are: be kind, be curious, be a good human.

Most companies don’t struggle because they lack data, tools, or talent.

They struggle because their go-to-market lacks clarity and alignment.

That became clear within minutes of beginning our NYC Fix Your Revenue Leaks GTM workshop last Thursday.

When I asked each leader to articulate their biggest GTM challenge, the patterns surfaced quickly:

“We have revenue… but we still haven’t found the language of the market.”
 (Founder, early-stage SaaS)

“Outbound works in the UK.  The same motion falls flat in the U.S.”
(BD leader navigating a cross-continental GTM shift)

“Marketing says one thing, Sales another, CS something else.”
(CS executive turned founder)

“Every rep uses the tech stack differently — it’s chaos.”
(Director of Sales, 60+ sellers)

Individually, these sound like functional problems.  Collectively, they reveal a strategic truth. The organization isn’t misfiring. The organization is misaligned.

- Different narratives.
- Different handoffs.
- Different interpretations of value.
- Different motions by region, segment, and team.

This is what erodes sales velocity, confuses customers, and quietly inflates churn.

So we did the work.
We walked through the 8 pillars of the GTM Partners Operating System (GTM OS), used the framework that cuts across Marketing, Sales, CS, Product, and RevOp to unify:
- ICP & segmentation
- value narrative & POV
- sales execution
- customer expansion
- retention levers 
- data, systems & operating cadence

The shift in the room was immediate. Not because the framework was new.
But because it finally gave every leader a shared language for diagnosing and fixing revenue leaks.

One attendee summed it up perfectly:
“I’ve never seen a unified customer experience across GTM…and that’s why we’re losing momentum.”

Boom! Exactly.

GTM is not a departmental function. It is an organizational system.
When leaders see that, truly see it, the entire business accelerates.

Margot doesn’t say a word during our workouts. 

But she pushes me harder than any coach ever could.

It’s Friday, I’m wiped from the week, and the only thing that got me to the 7 a.m. class was squeezing ROI from my membership. 🤣 

Then I got paired with Margot - normally a 5 a.m.-er.

She doesn’t talk about effort. She shows it:
- Heavier after every set
- One extra rep after the bell
- “Hard” is the starting point

Watching her made me ask: Am I lifting as heavy as I can? Can I do one more rep? Should I jump instead of step?

Training with Margot raises my effort and erases beliefs like “it’s heavy enough” or “I can’t make that jump.” We all need someone who leads by example—in sport, at work, and at home.

Standing at the base of the Pyramid of Kukulcán at Chichén Itzá, I'm struck by something most tourists miss.

It's not the pyramid you can see.
It's the foundation you can't.

The Mayans didn't just build upward. They terraformed entire landscapes, leveling massive areas to create perfectly flat foundations. The visible pyramid? That's just the tip. The real work—the unglamorous, backbreaking, invisible work—happened underneath.

A thousand years later, their descendants benefit from that foundation work. Tourism dollars. Cultural pride. A Wonder of the World designation in 2007.

Their ancestors built something that still feeds families today. People travel far and wide just to stand in awe of what was built.

Which brings me to you.

What are you building that no one sees yet?
What foundation are you laying today that your future self will thank you for?

You don't need to build pyramids.
But you do need to build.

Every framework you document.
Every story you share.
Every piece of wisdom you publish.

These become your artifacts.
Your foundation.
Your legacy.

Personal branding isn't about follower counts or coaching funnels. It's about consistently laying down knowledge that makes someone else's journey less difficult.

Do this long enough, and you're not just building content.
You're building something that matters.

Something that lasts.
Something that serves people you'll never meet.

The Mayans built with stone.
You build with stories, lessons and frameworks.

The pyramid? It’s the exciting stuff that gets noticed. (You need this too).

It can last a thousand years if you do the foundation right.
