Chetana Consulting, is a boutique firm the focuses on systems approach to Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in the public and private sector. "Chetana" means mindfulness and this underpins the philosophy of our work. Rooted in my lived experience as a first generation racialized immigrant woman and settler on the unceded and stolen tradtional lands of the Coast Salish peoples, our work in this space is about identifying and dismantling systemic inequities and barriers. 

Our clients include MOSAIC, Burnaby Intercultural Planning Table, BC Association of Farmers Markets, Burnaby Together, Dixon Society, Vancouver Farmers Markets, North Shore Immigrant Inclusion Partnership and Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.

The Maytree Foundation

- Developed and implemented a national initiative to expand employment mentoring for skilled immigrants in 5 urban centres (Halifax, Montreal, Edmonton, Calgary and Fredericton) which expanded mentoring for new Canadians by 100%. Employment-focussed mentoring embedded as a core program for new Canadians.
- Spearheaded a leadership initiative focused on increasing diversity on public boards, including provincial and municipal agencies, commissions and non-profits. Increased number of qualified candidates by 200% and appointments by 150%. 
- Developed and implemented Canada’s first collaborative model for mentoring that addressed barriers to employment faced by new Canadians. Reached the goal of 1,000 successfully completed mentoring matches in 15 months. The Mentoring Partnership remains Canada's largest mentoring  program for new Canadians.

- Devised a 3-year strategic plan focused on growing program participation by 50%, increasing funding by 30%, and building organizational capacity. 
- Increased annual operating budget from $250,000 to over $1 million in 4 years.
• Reduced dependence on Federal grants from 85% to 55% through diversifying revenue sources. 
• Increased staff from 5 to 14 FTE; built a high functioning team that provided exceptional client service while delivering on programs goals. 
• Led the Board through an in-depth process to acquire charitable status.
