Back in 2020 I was broke, and I mean super broke. An one thing saved me: I got a Remote job Here’s my story, Before covid I had a consulting company in Colombia, South America. The country I was born, and still live in. Lockdown meant I couldn’t go to my customer projects and thus, It wen underwater. Ar that point I had a huge debt because I was paying expensive lawyers to immigrate to the US. Colombia’s economy wasn't providing me with the opportunities I needed. Being locked in my home, with huge debt I needed to find an income source. That’s were I saw a post on Linkedin: “We are hiring a Sales guy to sell this software for the Canadian market” Although I wasn’t qualified (they required the person to be in Canada) I looked up the Canadian Timezone, Colombia is just between the East and West coast timezones, and applied! But I knee I was going to be rejected right away, so I was proactive and contacted the CEO of the company.
