Hello all LinkedIn users 🙌 Thank you for stumbling on my page. Be warned, it's a complex, emotional and creatively chaotic world😅 but there's so much value to what I've learned over the years despite the obstacles I've faced. My name is Sara. I was raised in the UK from the age of 4 onward across various places in Manchester. I was diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). Back then (mid 90's), the term Asperger's Syndrome was commonly used when diagnosing someone with Autism. Growing up in a world that has been deliberately designed to fail people such as myself presented me with challenges that were unnecessary and yet, I found my own way to fight for what I deserve and need. I've made a lot of progress despite the obstacles presented to me. Allow me to summarise: 👉I achieved great grades in all of my creative subjects: Art & Design, Media Studies and Photography during my school and college years. 👉I've grown to be a passionate advocate for my community and others from disadvantaged backgrounds. 👉I've grown to become a beacon of resilience, and have shared my stories with those who deserve to hear and benefit from it. 👉Even with the barriers I have faced with consistent work due to poor work environments, lack of accommodations, action, advocacy support and recognition, I still have a work history. This is a privilege. All you need to do is check the percentage rate of how many Neurodivergent people aren't in work in the UK (if you haven't done this, allow me to share the statistics with you - currently, fewer than three out of 10 Autistic people are working). 👉 I achieved a First Class Honours in my degree at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 whilst being undiagnosed with ADHD.
