Most people I meet say they've been meaning to do their will for a long time, but put if off because they don't like talking about death or think it will be complicated. Newsflash- talking about death/dying doesn't make it happen any sooner 😬 Here's some of the questions I regularly get asked; Don't you get depressed talking about death all day long? What's wrong with the free wills I see advertised online? Can I exclude my children from my will? What's the difference between a will and a lasting power of attorney? What's with the dog obsession? How can I protect my house/assets if I need to go into care? My parents are getting frail, what can I do to protect and help them whilst they're alive? How do I ensure my kids from my first marriage inherit, whilst ensuring my new wife still has somewhere to live after I've died? Will my partner still inherit without a will if we're not married? What's an executor? What's probate? How can I ensure my disabled child's money is protected for her? My child has alcohol/drug problems etc, how do I stop them wasting their inheritance?
