This is such a common issue, especially when you're trying to make a career switch or find better opportunities, and it can be super demotivating.

When I was initially looking for good opportunities, I wasn’t getting any interview calls either. 

But with every application, I made changes, things started turning around for me. 

>> Apply early: Instead of going for the old listings, try focusing on jobs uploaded in the last 24 hours. Use filters to find these more easily. Fresh applications often get more attention.

>> Tailor your resume: Take a look at the market trends and in-demand skills for the roles you're aiming for. Modify your resume to reflect those. 

Make sure you highlight relevant experience and projects that match the job description.

>> One of the biggest help for me was leveraging referrals. Look for employees working in the company you’re targeting, especially those who are active on LinkedIn. 

Send a personal invite, build a rapport, and politely ask if they can refer you. Trust me, referrals can speed up the hiring process, and many companies prioritize them.

Now you have to understand that switching careers is not easy. Some days you’ll feel like you’re making progress, and other days it’ll feel like nothing is working. It’s all part of the journey.

After working for 1.5 years my mentee cracked her Dream Product Based Company❤️

Many working professionals aim to get into Product Based Companies but cracking it is not a piece of cake 🍰

Recently, one of my mentees secured a position on SDE at Amazon. Here is his interview experience in his own words to help you understand the process.  

After being contacted by a recruiter on Linkedin, he had to go through a 5 round process 

📍Round 1: HR Screening 📞
They talked about his experience, what he’s good at, and what he wants to do in his career. He also got to learn more about Amazon's work environment and what the job would be like.

📍Round 2: Online Test 💻
Next,  There was a technical assessment to complete. This was a coding test that required him to solve 2 DSA problems relevant to the role.

The key here was to focus on demonstrating my problem-solving abilities. 

📍Round 3 & Round 4:  Technical Interviews 🧑‍💻
After passing the online test, he had two separate interviews with software engineers (SDEs). 

These were tough interviews that tested his knowledge of DSA in detail and asked him some behavioural questions. Clearing it they moved to the 

📍Step 5: Final Interview: Hiring Manager round 🤝
This round was with a hiring manager. They discussed about his career goals, how they fit with Amazon's plans, and what he could offer the team. Also discussed his past experiences and knowledge of DSA.

A few days later He got the call - a job offer from Amazon!  🎉

Today at IIT-Hyderabad to Judge a Hackathon ❤️

From coding my first app to teaching others code to reaching over 3.5 Lakh followers on IG. 

This journey of 3 different domains has been about growth, failures, success, persistence, and balance.

It is not easy. 🥹

After office when others choose to party and relax, you work for that passion of yours! It is possible only if you really enjoy it. 

Managing software engineering and content creation isn’t easy, but here are a few things that helped me:

🌱 Time Blocking : Dedicate specific hours to deep work example coding in the morning, content creation in the evening.

🌱 Batch Tasks : Group similar tasks (like coding or scripting) to stay focused and avoid context switching.

🌱 Automate What You Can : Use tools like Zapier and Trello to automate repetitive tasks and manage workflows.

🌱 Prioritize Self-Care : Very very important. Else no use of the hustle :) 

Remember, nothing worthy comes easy. 💪

Share these projects on GitHub or your personal portfolio highlighting key aspects like scalability, performance, and user experience.


✅ Make sure you’re well-versed in technologies like microservices architecture, distributed systems, cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP), and modern frameworks (React, Node.js, etc.). Also, solve system design problems to sharpen these skills. 

✅ Your resume is your first impression. Focus on highlighting your technical contributions, ownership of projects, and how you improved processes or efficiencies, even in a service-based role.
