Think-Aponic

The Think-Aponic, LLC project helps to provide 360⁰ support for institutional educators to integrate hands-on STEM tools and curriculum, built around aquaponics and other sustainable technologies, into the classroom setting. Currently in a 3-4 year beta-test examining user (teacher) experience and curriculum integration with 3x systems in 3 different K12 schools within Colorado.

•Founded chapter and recruited 15 members within one semester; 30 active members this academic year
•Project Management (Fall 2012): Project manager for the planning and execution of the first annual CU Collegiate DECA Conference which was the first Colorado State Collegiate DECA Conference; raised $2,300 for event and made $1000 in profits for the CU DECA chapter; event involved signing-up 32 student competitors through university marketing and student involvement, 14 judges through faculty and community network, four corporate sponsors, two SOFO (Student Organization Funding Office) funding sources, one key note speaker Rajeev Rawat, and various Boulder community professionals such as IBM and P&G executives; acted as director of external relations for the event
•Focus on strengthening members’ professional and leadership skills through interviews, presentations, and networking
•Compete for CU at DECA’s ICDC (International Career Development Conference) in mock trial, written, and case study events in areas of Accounting, Finance, Management, and Marketing; two attended ICDC 2011 one placed 2nd in Financial Services; five attended ICDC 2012 and two teams placed 1st in Business Law and top ten in HR Management
