My mom passed away from pancreatic cancer 11 years ago. Near the end, she shared something I still think about often:

"I took my health for granted, Scott. One of the greatest gifts in this life is the gift of health." 

There's a saying that captures it well:

A healthy person wants a thousand things; a sick person only wants one. 

Yes, life gets complicated. Work gets stressful. But if you have your health, you have everything you need to navigate it.

If you're healthy today, don't take it for granted. Don't wait to live the life you want. Start now.

Gonna make y’all think about this one for a second today.

I crossed 7,000 followers about a week ago. Over this past year, I've gained over 4,600 followers.

Darren McKee is right. It takes 12-18 months of committed investment to get this platform humming.

But here's the thing, I flailed around for 12-18 months before that gaining almost no traction.

Don't make my mistake. Do this instead:

1. Join Darren’s LinkedIn & Social Selling Cohort. Just do it. Spend the money. My investment has returned 1000x (no exaggeration).

2. Figure out your why. You're going to have so many days where you don't want to post or engage. Your why is what keeps you showing up.

3. Post 3-5x a week. Consistency matters more than perfection.

4. Leave 10 high-value comments every day. Not just heart emojis. Real thoughts that add to the conversation.

5. Send at least 10 DMs a day. This is where real relationships and revenue happen.

6. Understand this is a reciprocal platform. Give value, get value. You can't just post and ghost.

7. Enjoy the process of learning the game. It's still early innings and I would encourage everyone to jump in.

I wasted 12-18 months figuring this out the hard way.

You don't have to.

I met Darren McKee in 2024 on a trip to North Carolina when I was building FreedUp. We became fast friends. Small town Texas boys with deep faith, a love for people and an affinity for rap.

Darren McKee asked me a question this morning that I couldn't answer.

"What's your why for the next 500 days?"

My exact response: "I'm not sure."

When I first went through Darren's cohort, I had an answer for that question.

Then, I realized it had been over 500 days since that first cohort. I had achieved my previous goal, and the why behind it helped me get there. Yet, I hadn't taken the time to ask myself the question again. 

It's time to revisit the "7 Level Why" exercise. 

If you've never done the "7 Level Why" exercise, here's how it works:

1. Set aside 15-30 minutes 
2. Turn off all distractions 
3. Go analog with it and do this exercise with a pen & paper 
4. Write out what you want to accomplish (your goal) at the top of the page 
5. Ask yourself "why" you want to accomplish it and answer it 
6. Repeat that question 6 more times, going deeper with each answer

When you're done, you've uncovered motivation that's not just surface-level and will dry up after a month or so, but true motivation that sustains your effort to the goal itself. 

Two quick notes:

• Don't overthink it. Your first instinct is usually closer to the truth than your fifth revision.

• Don't "over-spiritualize" it. Yes, I know many of you love God, and he's your deepest motivation. That's awesome. It's also ok for your 'why' for a specific goal to be that you want to buy 30 acres or pay for a killer 15 year wedding anniversary trip. 

Well, there you have it. I'm off to answer that question afresh.

I would start with their “AI Fluency: Frameworks & Foundations” to get your feet wet.

I really do feel like this is the pruning season.

Those that grasp these tools are going to have a massive competitive advantage while others fall behind.

Anthropic just released data on where AI agents are actually being deployed.

Software engineering is taking up the lion's share at almost 50%. 

Everyone else? 

Back-office automation? 7.9%.
Marketing & Copy? 4.4%
Sales & CRM? 4.3%
Education? 1.8%
Healthcare? 1%.
Legal? 0.9%.

No matter what your feed has shown you, AI has barely touched most industries.

As Garry Tan, President & CEO of Y Combinator, wrote about the opportunities shown in this graph: "That's a hundred AI unicorns waiting to be built." 

We're fighting to be one of those 100.

Here's our angle: Who's going to manage all these agents? Who's going to ensure the workflows don't break? Who's going to staff the "human-in-the-loop" for these businesses? 

We are.
