The easy part: slipping out to gett eggs, bacon, sausage, English Muffins, OJ and hash browns this morning.

The hard part: predicting what time to make it and not getting my head torn off because I woke them up before 10AM...

Wish me luck... 93% chance I'll get it wrong!

As the father of three teen/pre-teen sons... I thive on the 7% win!!!

I formerly described my own writing process as old school... but after authoring 9 books myself, representing 100 authors as a literary agent (The Gray + Miller Agency) and launching a publishing company (Maison Vero) with 30 titles secured in the first 6 months... now I'm calling it genius.

For those creators like me who lean visual... I validate you!!

When I author a book, once I have all of my chapters identified and sequenced and the chapter structures codified, I take folders, write the chapter title on each of them (in this case 28 chapters/folders) and tape them to the wall facing or adjacent my writing desk.

These folders stare at me for the duration of my writing... haunting, shaming, encouraging, beckoning, inspiring and validating me as each time I complete a chapter, I print it off (yes I actually still own a printer and buy ink cartridges and paper) and place the printed chapter in its respective folder and smile with pride!!!

I do not use a writing software program as I want and need to see my progress.

Find and own your writing process and let nobody shame you out of it. The New Power Skills publishes in late 2027 and I already have 13 keynotes contracted (before the book releases), the audio book has been sold to a separate publisher (not all books land an audio deal) and foreign translations offers are starting to coming in.

Find the process that works best for you and go all in!!

No I am not a PEZ collector or hoarder.

I did however "inherit" a few thousand dispensers from my late father that along with a few hundred thousand other "collectible" items were hauled away by many wide-eyed guys driving the 1-800-Got-Junk trucks. (Think there were 35 trucks in total over my thirteen 2024 trips to Florida).

I'm in Dallas this wknd keynoting a small event and because I NEVER use slides for in-person visuals... thought I'd give each participant a PEZ dispenser to use for audience engagement. 

Each time I teach or share something a participant finds valuable, I'm asking them to eat a candy and snap the head.
