Pennsylvania: Were I was born. Left when I was 2 years old so I don’t remember anything. Went back 10 years later and it turns out it is a nice place. Virginia: Lived there most of my childhood. Grew up in a cute neighborhood and made some great friends there. Didn’t really know how good I had it until I started to see the world with my family. I’ve been to over 80 countries over 25 years. Was and still am a perfectionist. There were many signs that I had anxiety as a kid, but didn’t start to deal with it until I became an adult. When I was 12, I decided I wanted to become an accountant. I worked super hard throughout high school to get a 4.0 GPA so I could make it into BYU-Provo. Utah: Spent 4 years grinding to get an accounting degree from one of the most prestigious accounting programs in the world. Was it hard? Yes! Was it worth it? Yes! Took a year break to work on my mental health. I’m doing a ton better and have a job I like! So life is good. I am working towards becoming a Certified Financial Planning because money interests me and being financially secure is a widely held goal. Visiting so many countries has taught me that money really impacts well-being and longevity. After a certain point maybe not as much, but it should be everyone’s goal to have financial freedom. Honorable mentions Italy: I served a 2-year mission for my church in this lovely country. Although, Italian is one of the easier languages to learn for English speakers, it was a struggle. But I managed to become fairly proficient over the course of those 2 years. The most important lesson I learned was that no matter how much you believe in something, people don’t care about what you have to say until they know how much you care about them. Being genuine and good is what I strive to be and I worry less about persuading others to believe what I believe (and that goes beyond my religious beliefs). New Zealand: I lived here for a year. It is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. I wish I was older when I lived there, so I could have appreciated it more.
