As Maintenance Engineer, my responsibilities were but not limited to;
Development of appropriate maintenance work instructions for maintenance tasks both mechanical and electrical for all zones (Zones 0,1 and 2);
Ensuring that technical integrity requirements are considered;
Identifying resources, durations and materials requirements for each identified maintenance tasks;
Liaising with the project teams and clients to identify the spares required for each maintenance tasks;
Ensuring that the results of reliability centred maintenance and any other applicable studies are implemented as part of the maintenance task review process;
Ensuring that all statutory requirements have been implemented;
Ensuring that the maintenance task review process captures all the requirements of the facility performance standards.
Ensuring that all scopes of work within the project outlined are within legislation and compliance with regards to Australian standards and company standards.
Working on projects for Santos, Origin and Degremont. These projects ranged from hierarchy build, asset verification, (desk top and onsite). Writing maintenance strategies, maintenance procedures mechanical and electrical, maintenance planning, rebuilding of CMMS systems, RCM and asset criticality. Critical spares analysis, identifying new operational spares requirements or amendments to existing bills of materials and cataloguing current spares. Provide all relevant data for the clients CMMS data base. These projects were for CSG facilities, Water treatment Facilities and Gas Wells.

Maintenance Engineer

Managing the maintenance department for the entire plant. A lean manufacturing/maintenance attitude had to be instilled with a mind set change in the maintenance department. Starting with a 5s program and a planned maintenance restructure. This gave the tradesman more direction and responsibility, which resulted in plant uptime to 98%. 
Managing contractors and service contracts for the plant ensuring that the best service and cost was maintained keeping within the departments budget.
Assisting the Operation Manager with materials import, this included the maintenance department supporting the machinery involved as well as maintaining the plant. 
Standing in for the operations manager in his absence. Natural disaster management preparation in order to have minimal damage and cost. 
Shut downs where managed, and a 100% fault free start up. Shutdowns included the maintenance managing tradesmen designated work and contractors. Ball Mill Maintenance, Motor overhaul, Bucket elevator replacement and repair, Material Handling Equipment, Belt conveyors repair, Pumps service where activities of the shut down.

Managing two separate manufacturing processes (moulding and paint line) with regards to maintenance, machine up time, fault diagnostics, people management, shut down scheduling, spares development, 5s implementation, project management and lean manufacturing. The maintenance team consisted of 4 tradesmen and 8 preferred contractors.
Promoted to Engineering Coordinator my Responsibilities where:
Managing all maintenance activities, this includes both mechanical and electrical fields. Maintaining the plant with a high uptime, this is supported with implementing continuous improvement activities. Project management and introducing a lean manufacturing ethic by having a mindset change with the tradesmen. Time and people management along with a 5s program was performed daily.

Engineering Coordinator

This position was created purely because Toyota needed someone to drive a team of tradesmen with a new mind set change and attitude towards maintenance within the new paint shop. The paint shop was experiencing a lot of breakdowns in the robotic section, and this was due to maintenance not having enough skill and lack of confidence and the reason to this was that Toyota having new paint application technology, this being Robotic Carousel equipment, Water Bourne paint technology and 2 k paint technology.
My task was to put together a training program, build a workshop for these tradesmen and give them direction. The kaizen team consisted of 4 highly skilled tradesmen, apprentices and trainees, totaling 11 people. We as a team produced training programs, special maintenance for robotics, flow charts to help the maintenance department, build and fabricated a new workshop, (this workshop was known one of the best workshops within the world of the Toyota Group), work procedures, Bom's (Bill of Materials), emergency breakdowns where the maintenance department struggled, Fabrication of special tooling and test equipment for robotic spray equipment, 5's program, Lean Manufacturing, Lean Maintenance, Paint kitchen maintenance, special projects and visual management.

Continous Improvement Manager-Kaizen Team Lead

This was an Autonomous role that allowed me to hone in my skills with regards to quality control against the machinery to the unit produced. I managed 32 people that had to keep to a strict cleaning program of the Robotics within the spray-booths. Any deviation that was made from the cleaning  program  showed up on the units after going through the spay-booth so these people had to be trained by myself in order to achieve good quality work from them, which resulted in no defaults.
