• Build and develop professional relationships with key customer decision-makers, to include (but not limited to), Hospital Pharmacy, Heart Failure Clinical and Quality Directors (inpatient and outpatient), hospital finance decision makers in assigned accounts within assigned accounts 
• Responsible for routinely meeting with appropriate cardiology leaders in appropriate customer preferred setting. These cardiology leaders would be Cardiologists, Nephrologists, P&T committee members, etc., that act as stakeholders or decision-makers within the Account Specialist’s assigned accounts 
• Accountable for ensuring formulary adoption in targeted / assigned hospital accounts to help drive appropriate utilization of approved CV products; works with other sales colleagues to manage and coordinate pull-through of Letters of Commitment (LOC) 
• Leverage expertise and knowledge of heart failure, the marketplace, applicable competitors, industry and cross-functional activities/plans to anticipate and effectively manage business opportunities and challenges 
• Understands intra system dynamics in heart failure– e.g.: inpatient to outpatient management and protocols, readmission programs, performance vs quality metrics, CHF performance priorities 
• Understands hospital committee structure, P&T process, treatment and discharge protocols, DRG and hospital reimbursement process for all assigned accounts and communicates with matrixed team on impact to our approved CV products and the competition 
• Provides relevant, thoughtful input to strategic, business and account planning for territory and sales area, and engages in meaningful discussion and communication with area internal stakeholders 
• Develop and manage Heart Failure specific Account Plan, including linked inpatient strategies and outpatient strategies

•	Experience in the management of chronic medical illness such as, but not limited to: chronic kidney disease, end stage renal disease, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, dyslipidemia, anemia, congestive heart failure, and obesity. 
•	The ability to manage critical care patients in a methodical systems based manner  
•	Experience with a vast population of patients with end stage renal disease who are on hemodialysis locally and in rural settings.  With this experience comes management of anemia secondary to chronic renal insufficiency, secondary hyperparathyroidism, hypertension in end stage renal disease, vascular accesses, and infections associated with this population.
•	The skill to work in a diverse and multicultural environment, with people of all socioeconomic backgrounds.

•	Work directly with clinical staff, including physicians, nurses, and advanced practitioners, providing education related to anemia of chronic kidney disease to include: pathophysiology, relevant studies related to erythropoietin stimulating agents, and algorithm guidelines.
•	Provide educational resources and patient education tools to assist with disease awareness.
•	Develop strategies to efficiently provide quality clinical education to staff across the Midwest region.
•	Accurately answer complex medical questions from healthcare professionals in accordance with corporate policies, guidelines, and ethical standards
•	Territories covered: Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, and Arkansas
•	Successfully managing over 50 dialysis accounts  and exceeding company goals as set by HealthSTAR CES
