Day by day, progress might seem small, but when we reflect on the past few years, the growth becomes undeniable. 
 
Many of us have had dreams just like mine - craving for more freedom, seeking to break away from the routine. 
 
Having the freedom to work from home or spend a few hours at a coffee shop may have felt like distant dreams. 
 
Yet, here I stand today, living the life I once only imagined, after spending ten years working on offshore tugs.

So, that time I used to walk dogs for a billionaire!

I'm not kidding!

It was about 4 years ago and I had just left my offshore career.

I heard about this app called Rover.

You set up a profile, and you can walk people's dogs and make a little money.

So I signed up.

I remember it didn't take long. I was lying in bed at my girlfriend's house (now wife), and my phone goes off.

It was Rover!

I didn't know much about the gig, just that they needed someone 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄.

Alright then, let's go walk some dogs.

Fast forward a bit. I got to know a lot more about the people who own the dogs.

The person who initially reached out was an assistant, not one of the owners.

It was a MASSIVE house with a huge stretch of land and 2 pools.

Oh, and there were 4 dogs, not just 1, haha!

I found out that the woman owner (who was really nice) owned a hair extension e-commerce store.

The guy owner (he didn't talk to me) had inherited his families wealth.

Literally BILLIONS! 

(𝘠𝘦𝘢𝘩, 𝘐 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘨𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦, 𝘩𝘢𝘩𝘢!)

It was a sweet gig.

I walked the dogs during the week for 3 hours a day.

The main purpose of my job was to make sure they were exhausted before I left.

One day, me and all four dogs headed to the backyard to play and throw sticks.

I threw the stick, and it landed a little past a group of trees that was blocking part of the backyard.

Duke started to run after the stick, so I started to run.

Ha, I was faster.

I bent down to grab the stick and looked up, right in front of me, maybe 50 feet away.

You'd never believe what was right in front of me...

A freaking helicopter, bahahahahah!

I knew these people had money, but holy sh!t, They had BYH (back-yard-helicopter) money! 

Right before I left, I would let the assistant know that I was leaving.

I said...

"𝘏𝘦𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦, 𝘐'𝘮 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘢𝘺."

She said...

"𝘖𝘬𝘢𝘺, 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘬𝘴 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯, 𝘚𝘦𝘢𝘯."

"𝘖𝘩 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘩, 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦, 𝘯𝘰 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘮... 𝘖𝘩, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘮, 𝘐 𝘧𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘰𝘱𝘵𝘦𝘳 😂"

Reflecting on those days I can't help but chuckle at how life takes us on these unexpected journeys.

From a random Rover app notification to playing fetch in a backyard with a surprise helipad.

Life's twists and turns show us just how unpredictable and exciting it can be.

It's a reminder that even when we think we know where we're headed, life might just throw in a back-yard helicopter to remind us that there's always more to discover.

Embracing the unexpected, finding joy in surprises, and being open to new experiences.

That's the essence of truly living.

So here's to walking the path less traveled, or in my case, walking some seriously pampered dogs!

May we all continue to find joy in life's quirks and surprises.

I've got this gut feeling that my new routine is gonna bring in some serious success.



Today marks day 16 of my running journey.

Last week, I set myself the challenge of running 2 mile every day, and guess what? Nailed it!

Now, I'm stepping it up to 3 miles a day.

And one simple thing Ive noticed, Knocking out that run first thing in the morning sets the tone for the whole day.

Morning runs = Total day domination.

How to make sure your emails have purpose. 
Ask yourself these questions... 
 
1. Why are we doing this campaign? 
 
2. What's the primary goal for this email? 
 
3. Which specific products/collections are we focusing on?  
 
4. Who do we want to get this email? 
 
5. Who do we NOT want to get this email? 
 
By confronting these questions head-on, I've realized the power of understanding 'WHY' before hitting send.

I was writing some email copy yesterday and a question popped up. 
 
"𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘶𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘢𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘢𝘯 𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘭 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘢𝘯 𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘭?" 
 
𝗚𝗼𝗮𝗹: This is the specific outcome you want from the email.  
 
Example: The goal might be to generate sales. Or, it might be to drive traffic to a website, or get recipients to sign up for a new product you're launching. 
 
𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲: Refers to the copywriter's unique approach. They use it to convey the message and achieve the goal. The way you frame and present the content is key. This is to capture the attention and interest of the recipients. 
 
Example:  Highlighting a specific benefit or feature of a product. It could also be a problem-solution angle. You should address a pain point. Paint a picture of the solution. Then, show how your product fills the gap.  
 
The key is understanding your audience—know their needs, interests, and motivations.  
 
Once you've got that down, you can craft messages that really get them moving.

Im curious to what others are doing. I have my own way but when I looked into it recently I saw a mixture of the 2 triggers.

When building a Post Purchase flow what trigger do you use and why? 

I can't remember where I first heard this, but it really resonated with me, and I think it's spot on.

To paraphrase: Even the most talented and successful professionals have coaches guiding them. 

Take LeBron James, for example. 

He started playing basketball when he was just 9 years old and is still playing at the elite level at age 39. 

Throughout his entire career, spanning over 30 years, he has always had coaches to help him improve his game, maintain his focus, and adapt to new challenges.

The point is, no matter how skilled or experienced you are in your field, having a coach or mentor can be invaluable. 

They provide an outside perspective, offer guidance, and help you identify areas for growth and improvement. 

Just like LeBron James, we can all benefit from the support and expertise of a good coach, regardless of our level of success or the stage of our careers.
