A temporary part time contract helping with a charitable non profit by event planning, grant research and network growth for potential events and donors.

Helped plan a film tour by reaching out to potential hosts and pitching the event, searching LinkedIN and Company pages, was able to gain contacts at Royal BC Museum, Patagonia, Fjallraven and multiple local breweries and outdoors clubs.

REEL CANADA

I worked as a senior coordinator for REEL CANADA. We planned educational film festivals that promote Canadian Film to high schools, we also organized a one day celebration of Canadian Film, National Canadian Film Day, a 1000 event day showcasing Canadian Film and Canadian Talent.

Cold calling schools and pitching our event to gain new schools, and maintain a network of established partners were big aspects of this role. We called 500+ schools and saw an audience growth of more than 5,000 people up from 10,000 the year previous.

In this position all aspects of coordination fell on my plate. For smaller events, booking all travel, guests from the films, hotels, food, venues, everything that needs to be coordinated, I managed. For larger events, I usually took team lead and focused on the larger picture, while delegating tasks to the rest of the team.

A multi focus internship with primary responsibilities in Advancement, Alumni Relations, and Teaching Theatre.

Aiding the Events Manager. This is how I got my start in event planning, I was asked to help work the Centennial Gala and found a passion for events. From there I went on to take support roles at all of the events, leading up to taking lead planning my own Alumni 5 year Reunion which had an increase in numbers from the previous year from 14 to 47 (class size was 87).

In my last year of University, I ran for and was elected for the Drama Student Council Executive (along with 3 other individuals). I was tasked with being the Marketing Executive.

Handling everything from planning fundraising events, dances, club nights, pub nights, pizza nights, movie nights, any of the social aspects of the department fell on my shoulders to coordinate.

Also handling the deployment of marketing for department shows and events.

I was a member of the staff and acted as the main liaison between students and faculty, working to increase transparency between the two groups and making the department work better as single cohesive unit.
