•	Lead the iHeart SRE team that owns  design and execution of an internal core services platform to encourage zero friction onboarding for teams, Service Level Objective (SLO) compliance, maintain a high level of security and elite performance on key software delivery objectives defined by the DevOps Research Association. (Deploys per day, Change Failure rate, Mean Time to Restore, and Lead time for change)
•	Established an Objective and Key Results (OKR) program ensuring SRE delivers value aligned with business goals and communicates objectives transparently. 
•	Consolidated enterprise platforms and tools to optimize software delivery, operational efficiency and service reliability. 
•	Lead Data Center migration (budget and execution) from on-prem infrastructure to cloud.
•	Drove cloud cost optimizations including reserved instance and savings plan purchases (41% savings) and automated rightsizing using CloudHealth, AWS Cost Explorer and Cloud Custodian and spot instance utilization(66% savings). More decreases are planned through turn-off orchestration in non-production during non-business hours.
•	Owned Cloud, Infrastructure and SaaS platform vendor relationships and pricing/SOW negotiation.
•	Partnered with the Information Security team on establishing a new security strategy with a “shift security left” mindset called Trusted Software Delivery, leading to fewer exploitable vulnerabilities deployed into production.
•	Lead a team and participate in the design and implementation of AWS Control Tower.  Automating new cloud account delivery for development teams based on best practices, reducing delivery of new accounts from weeks to minutes while implementing guard rails to prevent drift in account configurations.

Senior Director, Cloud Operations and Automation

Rackspace, the Open Cloud Company

● Manage a globally distributed engineering team of nine responsible for the design/support of all Rackspace infrastructure. 

● Led team in design and deployment of an internal service that provides compliant, highly-available infrastructure enabling development teams to deploy apps and features on-demand. Solution was built on OpenShift and ManageIQ, installed on VMware and AWS, and reduces infrastructure delivery time from weeks to minutes.

● Managed a fleet of 12K+ servers built on bare metal servers, VMware vCloud Director, Rackspace Public Cloud, Apache Mesos, Marathon and OpenShift Origin/Kubernetes, with 50% subject to both PCI and SOX compliance audits.

● Evaluate, design, and implement new infrastructure and application strategies. 

● Completed successful PCI audit for 80+ full stack applications.

● Consolidated disparate legacy infrastructures to allow for fleet level management and reduce overhead.

● Provide consolidated cost reporting to leadership and created capacity plans based on growth trajectories. 

● Managed a $2M budget for infrastructure and staff.

Manager, Systems Engineering

● Developed roadmaps and implemented processes for an engineering team developing tools used by our support teams. 

● Collaborated with leadership and project management on major project prioritization including PCI compliance and a globally deployed infrastructure footprint. Guided engineers on backlog prioritization. 

● Consolidated devops engineers from disparate groups into a single group and established formalized devops processes. 

● Managed a fleet of ~3K cloud and virtual servers built on Rackspace Public Cloud and VMWare vCloud Director.

Technical Product Manager

● Brought in as individual contributor to gain exposure to the Cloud division and soon promoted to product management.

● Designed/deployed new infrastructure technologies for Rackspace Cloud products, drew network and cabinet diagrams, and coordinated releases with remote developers. 

● Served as SME for new product launches. 

● Contributed to infrastructure design that housed Rackspace’s Cloud Servers (NOVA) product.

Product Engineer

● Managed a team of software developers providing tools and automation for the infrastructure services department. Led Agile and scrum process. 

● Managed OS Deployment team that developed and maintained Rackspace’s Kickstart system which deploys OS’s including various Linux distros and Windows versions to customer servers based on specifications.

● Built a team of developers to solve automation problems. Designed a system to allow developers to submit ideas and vote on them, providing developer autonomy. This reduced operational overhead by $2M, raised customer NPS scores, improved employee engagement ratings, and I was awarded “Racker of the Quarter” for Q3 2008.

Manager Infrastructure Services

● Reorganized operations teams into defined production and support teams in order to improve production times and reduce ticket MTTR, resulting in reduced production times/build failure rates and MTTR <5 minutes for customer tickets.

● Hired hardware architects to review new hardware specs and coordinate between product and datacenter teams. This led to on-time server product line launches with full support documentation and inventory available for sale.

Global Operations Manager

Managed datacenter engineering and operations teams responsible for the maintenance of both datacenter and infrastructure and customer servers. Expanded power infrastructure to allow for additional capacity, leading to a 10% increase in monthly recurring revenue.

Datcenter Manager
