The primary responsibility is to contact businesses, contractors (including Federal contractors) employer associations, and other entities to encourage hiring qualified Veterans. VELs coordinate and develop employment opportunities for Veterans and facilitate Veteran access to employment programs and services. VELs act on behalf of businesses to recruit and retain qualified Veterans.

Case management, talent acquisition, sourcing, team-building (consulting), counsel, mediate, and work cooperatively and tactfully with employers, management, clients, and business associates of various backgrounds. Collaborations with multi jurisdictional agencies, HUD - VASH, municipal and non-profit organizations. Actively participated in Dallas VAMC Homeless Veterans Stand - Downs and committee member.

Interacts with judges, district attorneys, community leaders, and other government officials and agencies and with leadership across the continuum.  Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of others.  Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.  May be required to travel, work overtime, and be on call.

Being a leader and team member. Supply administration and operations specialist perform every facet of ground supply administration and operations. These Marines must be able to accomplish the technical duties in retail and wholesale supply accounting within every Marine Corps activity and unit. They operate personal computers, multimedia data entry, scanning and retrieval systems functions, generate routine reports, and perform technical research functions for customer inquiries, in addition to requisition and procurement processing. They maintain and prepare necessary accounting and supply documents, maintain custody records, perform reconciliations, and take timely action to ensure corrective action of problem areas. They solve data output interpretation problems or contact appropriate sources to resolve questionable areas.
