Digital marketing consultancy work for the fast-growing Melbourne-based neobank, Up ⚡️ (backed by Bendigo Bank).

Lonely Planet

Worked in conjunction with a team in Nashville looking after all things marketing related for the Webby award winning lonelyplanet.com website, plus their popular Guides and Trips apps (iOS & Android; downloads 3M+) Marketing lead for the launch of those two apps, plus for new homepage, video platform, US magazine, and various PR-generating global campaigns. 

Was also an editorial contributor both online and in print, and presented at numerous conferences such as Millennial 20/20 and Slack’s Frontiers event.

Director of Online Marketing

Oversaw an array of social channels that connected the Lonely Planet brand at the time with 10M+ travellers (became 15M+). Grew Lonely Planet’s global Twitter handle to be the biggest in the industry. Two Skiftie awards won during my tenure in the role, for Best Instagram Channel and Most Engaged Social Community. 

Created and launched our monetised influencer programme (Pathfinders) with other key stakeholders. Grew membership from nothing to 4K+ members.

Social Communications Manager

Worked with external sponsors and global partners to expand the brand, from tourism boards to airlines to tour companies. Clients included brands such as: QANTAS, Tourism Philippines and APT. Led the internal-sponsored project for launch of a new Lonely Planet India website (.in) for the Indian travel market. 

Was also the production lead on the digital campaign to celebrate Lonely Planet’s 40th anniversary (‘Amazing experiences start here’), working in tandem with the Australian marketing team.

Project Producer - Client Solutions

BMF Australia

Worked primarily on Lion, TTI (Ryobi/AEG) and Schweppes as main clients, including the much publicised ‘return of the Solo man’ campaign. Also contributed to an award winning digital initiative with Amnesty International (‘Twignature’).

Account Executive

Entered BMF initially after securing a place through the Communications Council Graduate Trainee Programme. Rotated through various functions, with a particular interest in the Strategic Planning area. Worked on a graduate-led campaign to raise money for the Australian Red Cross following the Japan earthquakes.
