As many of you know, I’ve been diving deep into AI and ethics lately — it’s a space that fascinates me, especially given the pace of innovation. With my new role in legaltech, I’ve been thinking a lot about how these tools are shaping the legal profession. AI tools are rapidly becoming embedded in legal workflows — from contract review to litigation risk scoring. But as impressive as these tools are, many of them share one troubling feature: they can’t always explain why they came to a specific conclusion In a profession built on precedent, reasoning, and accountability, is it ethical to rely on AI systems that operate as black boxes?
