I have had a very multi-faceted life and been very successful as a former radio personality of note, poet and also passed through at least 6 professional careers- I am , for all intents and purposes, retired -due to several handicaps that have limited me physically.. I have been in common law since I won my first case at 20 and was a constitutional advocate who took people into court to get their rights back. Cats have always been a very large part of my life. I don't recall ever having much time in it that a cat or cats were not a part of it. My mother was a huge animal rights activist and together we did a lot of rescue- had one of the first spay/neuter clinics in Ft Lauderdale, Florida and did a lot of behavioral advisement before it became vogue. We also had a rescue in Tamarac , Florida. And we initiated TNR to the area. I have always been a writer and involved in public speaking and have had several poems in Cats and Cat Fancy Magazine. I have had the good fortune to have several pieces of work published in reviews and anthologies and various publications-having written from the age of eleven. Aside from holding down a lot of marketing jobs and having my own radio program in Boca Raton-my primary interest was in rescue and always will be. As a result of the physical limitations, I have had lately I have become involved in rescue on Facebook - taking cats from the ACC's of NY with some of the best rescue organizations in the NE area. We have saved several thousand over the years. I also worked to help transport and fund large cats- particularly a group of very abused lions in Romania to England while a member of Care 2. Several of my friends have highly respected and acclaimed big cat rescues. During Superstorm Sandy I did many on-ground rescue coordinations which somehow were successful despite difficulties with fuel availability and safety - my drivers are fearless. We have great stories to tell. At this point I am just interested in seeing as many cats as possible get happy homes and to safety - free of the ACC's - we work with a twelve-hour window and it is stressful but rewarding. This is a life I can truly live with. I wanted to say a few words about Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. I have written a poem to them and I cannot compliment them enough for what they have done for their animals. I had a great honor of being part of the rescues at the beginning of the war and making sure that people and their pets got to cross borders with the help of some of the most wonderful people up on LinkedIn Facebook ever.
