Being able to communicate in multiple languages and listening to non verbal communications has been a great skill and a personal strength. Having a job profile where speaking was the pre- requisite took me on a personal journey from selling space for a Business Directory , to working in a market research company as a focus group moderator in multiple languages, for more than 13 years leading to the noble profession of teaching for the next 14 years, the progress was slow and gradual. But ,then I am a late bloomer. Speaking has landed me in a ,voice only', space with Mentza where I enjoy listening , text chatting and being able to talk in a safe space. Converting a hobby into social work and founding a community of more than 500 buddies across couple of countries -Save Scrap& Sew continuing on its 8th year now (www.savescrapnsew.com) has been my way of giving back to the country ,The UAE , I have called home for more than 30 years. It brings an added happiness to know we buddies saved more than 9 and half tons of fabric scrap from the landfill. Using social media and marketing knowledge in creating awareness to save the landfill from cloth scraps and helping the deserving with products made from scraps has become a personal mission. This paved the path further to becoming an entrepreneur and partner in Sew A Gift (www.sewagift.com) Mentoring Doctoral students (DBA) with Swiss Management Centre, SMC was happening simultaneously (June 2015-November 2018). Interacting with students, sharing innovative ideas and knowledge, exchanging marketing information and analysis acts as an elixir for my passion of being a teacher, a facilitator and a communicator.
