We’re a hub for elite leaders of color who are breaking down barriers and impacting culture globally to connect, collaborate and change. BLACK GIRL VENTURES FOUNDATION

The liaison between the Houston  Change Agents and Black Girl Ventures (BGV) HQ. Communicates the needs of the community to the team and executes on team goals within the mission of BGV. Leads the successful execution of cross-functional enablement programs in partnership with the CEO, Event Teams and Marketing. The Team Lead is the first point of contact for BGV efforts in their market. They are highly efficient at project management and passionate about equitable opportunities for women. Team leads work hand in hand with Black Girl Ventures to create access to social and financial capital for Black and Brown women founders.

YourLife Finance Class Instructor

Taught 60-minute classes that covered basic personal finance information such as money management, account, budgeting, saving and credit. Taught these classes in schools, domestic violence shelters, social service agencies, colleges, and community centers throughout Houston.

Sharita is a certified financial consultant and wellbeing speaker who helps women entrepreneurs manage their personal and business finances, create consistent cashflow, and gain access to capital. She is passionate about empowering and educating her clients to achieve their financial goals and wellness.

With over ten years of experience, Sharita has collaborated with various educational institutions, municipalities, and organizations, such as the University of Houston, Fulton County, and the U.S. Department of State, to deliver impactful financial literacy programs and workshops. 

She has also been recognized as the 2020 National Financial Educator of the Year and received two Texas Proclamations for her work. Sharita is a regular contributor to major publications and media outlets, and a proud alumna of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program.

Teach One Reach One. 

I was invited to speak about Sales to latest cohort of AccelerateHER of Texas Woman's University. 

We spent 2.5 hours refining our 30sec elevator pitch and then putting pen to paper working on our sales strategy, game plan to increase sales and our abundance mindset. 

1. Rewiring your narrative around accepting and owning that we are sales people. Once you own it, you can get out there and sale your product and service. No one will advocate for your business they way a business owner will. 

2. Figure out your target market.  Once you know that you can refine your messaging and communicate the same language as your ideal client. 

3. You are within reach in landing your ideal client.  We are 6 degrees apart and you are connected to more people than you think.  Utilize your network and don't be afraid to ask for an introduction. 

4. Lastly, delulu is the solulu. Becoming an entrepreneur in itself is delusional.  You are already going against the grain. Continue being delulu, surround yourself with other successful delulu entrepreneurs that inspire to keep at it and to continue dreaming big.  

And for me...

What I learned from this,  that when I'm my authentic self, which is honest, direct, well meaning, intentional, spunky, vulnerable, and transparent - well the right people will see it and appreciate it.
