With a unique background blending psychology, trauma coaching, and office administration, I’ve developed a comprehensive skill set that allows me to provide meaningful support to mental health professionals and trauma survivors. My mission is to foster resilience and personal growth, especially for frontline workers like medical students, nurses, and therapists, who often face intense emotional challenges in their demanding roles.

As the owner of Metamorphosis Counseling and Wellness Center LLC, I work closely with clients to create personalized trauma recovery plans. I utilize proven therapeutic approaches such as Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), EFT Tapping, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help individuals address their limiting beliefs and heal from past traumas. I also lead engaging webinars, speak at conferences, and host seminars specifically designed for mental health professionals and trauma survivors. These events focus on providing tools, resources, and strategies to manage stress, cultivate emotional resilience, and create a balanced, fulfilling life.

In addition to my counseling and coaching expertise, I have extensive experience in administrative support roles within a variety of sectors, including law, real estate, and healthcare. This combination of professional backgrounds gives me a unique edge in understanding the day-to-day challenges faced by mental health professionals and organizations. I bring strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills, ensuring smooth operations and efficient client care while maintaining confidentiality in all matters.

Currently, I’m expanding my reach through workshops and support groups, where I lead meaningful conversations around trauma, healing, and mental health resilience. Whether working with individuals or groups, my goal is to offer support that empowers, educates, and inspires others to heal, grow, and thrive in their professional and personal lives. I am always looking for new opportunities to collaborate, share insights, and make a positive impact in the mental health and trauma recovery field.

It’s hard to believe that it has been fifteen years since this picture was taken of my niece.  I was her full-time #nanny for the first three years of her life. I would wake up before dawn and care for her from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. while my brother and sister- in-law went to work. It was just me, her, two dogs, two cats, and an Amazon parrot who talked more than all of us combined. I was her very first teacher — and thank God for ABC Mouse and #DisneyJunior. Through those early-morning lessons, the play area at the mall, story time at the library, and our own little world of baby sign language.

Those years were beautiful, but they were also hard. Every day I juggled caring for a toddler while trying to complete my schoolwork during nap times, before sunrise, and long after she fell asleep. Looking back on 2010–2013 now, I realize I was busy because I didn’t know who I was yet. I was surviving more than I was living.

Then today, on a quiet Saturday morning, everything came full circle. My niece and I went for a sunrise run to sort through two separate ruptures we both faced this week. Hers happened during soccer practice with her best friend — the same friend she met in preschool right after I transitioned out of being her nanny. Mine happened in the mental health world and deeply affected a 23-year relationship I truly never imagined would fracture the way it did. It shook me. It hurt in a place I didn’t expect to ever feel wounded.

Somewhere during our run, my niece asked me a question that stopped me in my tracks: “Aunt Sharon, suppose we both take a step back. We can’t go back, but we can go forward. What if you took a break and returned when you’re ready? What if you tried again in three months, six months, or even a year? What if your next step is learning how to do life on your own for right now? You were my first teacher. You tell your clients this all the time — maybe now it’s your turn.”

Her words reminded me of a quote I once read:
 “Sometimes the bravest step you can take is simply choosing to begin again.” And they made me think of the scripture in Psalm 34:18:
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

#Ruptures happen — in friendships, in families, in the mental health community, even in relationships we believe are unshakeable. It scares me to walk into the unknown, especially when the unknown involves someone who has been a constant in my life for over two decades. I’m not the type to walk away and say goodbye forever. That’s not who I am. This rupture, for me, is not an ending, it never can and never will be.  It is me saying: I’m hurt. I need space. I need time to process this on my own terms.

I will return when I am ready. I always have, and I always will. That is one thing in my life that has never changed, and it never will. That is a 100% guarantee.

Right now, I am simply taking my next step — not backward, not into the past, but gently, slowly, bravely forward.

~  MY BACKGROUND ~

In 2005 I started my career in the corporate world  as a professional temp working for various medical offices in the Tampa Bay area. In the spring of 2006 I was hired on permanently with a company as their medical receptionist.

~~  FIRST ROCK BOTTOM ~~

In  Spring of 2007  the company  that hired me on permanently  filed chapter 7 bankruptcy, everyone was let go.  In an attempt to rebuild my life I went to college on a couple of grants to further my skills taking courses  taylored to Mental Health Counseling.  I left  college in 2010, only this time with the skills and certifications I earned in college  I was a secretary, then a personal assistant to some CEO’s with in large medical facilities.

2013-2018 all was going well, I was 5 years working at the same company. I had done every job with in the medical facility that I could. Spring of 2018 hit, once again the company I worked for filed chapter 7 bankruptcy.  I  started doing odd job’s like helping friends fix up there Air B & B’s, all while remaining faithful that my situation would improve.

~ MY DISCOVERY ~

When the world was on lock down  I transformed my mindset by: Taking the time to up-date my skills by earning certifications through Udemy tailored to mental health and trauma recovery.  Asking myself what can I do to avoid hitting rock bottom every couple of years and feeling stuck.


~ MY LIGHT BULB MOMENT ~

I took the support groups at  Discovering Hope and started talking to woman through Face Book Messenger, Zoom, and Instagram. I thought if  people see a therapist to work through life’s difficulties, then  why not use my knowledge to expand Discovering Hope and  that’s how Life Coaching with Sharon Ann got started.

Are You a Pawn in Your Own Life?

In enmeshed families, conflict is not just avoided—it’s strategically blocked, like a game of chess where one wrong move threatens the entire board. The expectation? Play your assigned role, whether it’s the peacekeeper, the golden child, or the scapegoat, and don’t question the grandmaster’s strategy. Psychology tells us that growing up in this dynamic can lead to people-pleasing, difficulty asserting boundaries, and even chronic anxiety. Imagine a young woman who never disagrees with her mother for fear of "rocking the boat," or a son who stays in a career he despises just to meet his father’s expectations. Over time, the cost of avoiding conflict isn’t just a lack of authenticity—it’s the slow erosion of identity itself.

I know this firsthand. Growing up in a military family where appearances mattered more than emotions, I learned early that voicing my thoughts came with consequences. I played my part, kept my head down, and followed the script. But breaking free from that pattern meant embracing hard conversations, setting boundaries, and accepting that love isn’t about blind obedience—it’s about truth. Ephesians 4:15 reminds us, “Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.” Growth happens when we learn to challenge unhealthy roles and step beyond the chessboard that others have set for us. So, the real question is—are you ready to make your own move?

 Ever notice how loyalty becomes the unspoken currency in an enmeshed family? The rule is simple: don’t disrupt the image—even if the image is built on denial. Growing up in systems like this, the child who sees the truth becomes the one forced to swallow it. Their voice gets muted, their intuition questioned, and their emotional needs dismissed in the name of keeping the peace. As adults, this becomes a silent battle: trusting their own perceptions, believing in their worth, and feeling safe enough to form healthy connections. Proverbs 4:23—“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it”—hits deep for me because I was never taught to guard my heart… I was taught to guard the family image. John 8:32—“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free”—became the verse that helped me reclaim my voice after years of being told my truth was too loud, too much, or too inconvenient.


 Enmeshed families create adults who second-guess themselves even when their instincts are right, who apologize just for existing, and who learn to anticipate rejection before safety. Healing means rewriting the rules we were raised on, choosing boundaries instead of guilt, and giving ourselves permission to speak even when our voice shakes. For me, letting truth lead—not fear—has been the doorway to real freedom, healthier relationships, and the courage to be fully seen. So let me ask you this: What’s one belief you were raised with that you’re no longer willing to carry into your future?
