What’s the best part of Austin’s tech scene?

 Networking.

Except it never feels like networking. It feels like collaborating.

We’re all learning and pushing ideas forward together.

I’ve been in AI for almost three years now — long enough to see the hype come and go, but the one constant is this:
 The people who stay curious always win.

That spirit was alive last Thursday evening at Hack AI x Capital Factory Collab. 

Bryce Miles from Adrenaline Interactive gave a killer presentation. Then I caught up with Reid McCrabb  and John Moffatt, cofounders of Linkt to talk about a future presentation at the event I host: Marketing Automation & AI (TX★AI) 

And of course, it wouldn’t be a proper night out without running into Roberto H Luna, who’s always building something big, and 🧑🏻‍💻 Eddy Hernández, who seems to know what’s next before anyone else does.

The event, a collab with Capital Factory  Factory, brought together so many connections.
 Aaron Handwerker, Caroline Van Nuis May Thorssen Rafaella Chavez Thorssen and my buddy, Serhii Korniushov, who always has his finger on the pulse of what’s happening in Austin.

These nights remind me why I keep showing up.
 Not to collect business cards. But to stay connected to the people who are actually shaping the future like Praneel Joshi.

‪I get it. You’re busy.‬ 

LinkedIn's not your thing. You don’t see the value in it.‬

‪You’re not looking for clients or a job, so having only the Austin cityscape with no message works for you.‬

‪But for everyone else on here, we need to know what you do. ‬

‪Austin Tech Week will be here next week, and y'all need to stand out. ‬

‪Right now, all I see are Austin Business or Austin Tech LinkedIn profiles with Austin cityscape banners. While the skyline is beautiful, it doesn’t say anything.‬

Your LinkedIn banner isn’t decoration, it’s your pitch deck. 

‪It’s the first thing investors, clients, and employers see.‬

‪And if your message isn’t there, the opportunity scrolls right past.‬

‪𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵: Nobody reads your Headline. Nobody scrolls down to your About section. Especially on mobile. All they see is your banner and your face. 
That’s it. ‬

‪And your banner IS your Billboard; it's your 𝗣𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗸. ‬

‪Your message is your magnet.‬ And, everything else is secondary.‬

‪When I see the same Austin cityscape across dozens of profiles, it tells me nothing about what you do. It just says, “I live here.” Which is fine if you’re secure in your job and have a thriving business or startup.‬

‪But... if you’re building something, your banner should work as hard as you do.‬

‪And I get it...you're busy. You don't have time for LinkedIn, you're not a brand designer or a copywriter. And you think your Austin cityscape banner is enough. 

‪It’s not.‬
