A leading 'Online Learning Platform' in Indian K12 segment, Vedantu is valued at 1 Billion USD and funded by marquee investors like Accel, Tiger Global, Omidyar, and TAL, Vedantu has close to 35 Million monthly visits and around 80K paid students across all grades.

I built and led the design team of 50 members including Product Designers, User Researchers, Visual Designers, and UX Writers. Besides design, as part of the core leadership group I also head the Paid Customer Experience Business Charter.

Key Initiatives
- Led and oversaw key projects like App redesign for free user engagement, Content Library, Game mode, Storefront, Study Tab, Wave Portrait Mode, and the Onboarding Experience for Paid Customers.
- Created multiple channels for user research and VoC in form of Student advisory groups and Focus groups.
- Led documentation and framework projects like Student Journey, Communication strategy, Culture book as part of the Paid Customer Experience Charter.

CommonFloor.com is venture-funded by Tiger Global and Accel Partners. The company has operations in Delhi, Pune, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad and is the fastest-growing real estate portal in India. The company raised Series B funding in 2012 and series C in 2013.

Shayak was a part of frog India's DRZ team. DRZ - the design realisation team was built to work with engineering teams in India and bring designs to life. DRZs work involve research, design, prototyping, documentation and close collaboration with engineering teams.

Shayak is a design leader with more than 15 years of experience in building and leading design teams. He brings a unique combination of corporate and entrepreneurial experience with multidisciplinary expertise in the product innovation process. 

Shayak is the Head of Design and a part of the leadership team at Vedantu - India's second-largest K12 Edtech platform. 

Prior to this Shayak led design teams at Meesho, Practo, and Commonfloor.
Shayak was a part of the frog's India team in 2011, facilitating design and delivery in coordination with frog's worldwide centers. 
Earlier in 2008, Shayak co-founded Cheese, a User Experience design and development company steering it to a 100% YoY growth. Cheese was one of NASSCOM's Fastest 50 companies in India in 2010.

Throughout his career, Shayak has focused on developing strong frameworks and scalable architectures, putting the user at the center of the design process, conducting research, and creating designs that are both aesthetically pleasing and usable.

He has also mentored many designers in India who continue to contribute to design around the world.

In his free time, Shayak believes in lifelong learning and enjoys doing illustrations, playing guitar, and writing design raps.

It was great catching up with the design community at #Shipped Figma ’s gala event celebrating the opening of their first local office in Bangalore.
