As HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan gears up for 2025 as the Year of Community, this event felt like a prelude to the wave of positive transformation we aspire to see. A movement led by women, shaping AI to be more accessible, inclusive and deeply human. This wasn’t about technology alone. It was about empathy, determination and responsibility-ensuring AI serves everyone, especially those who have been historically overlooked. Some moments that left a lasting impact: 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗸𝗵𝗮 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝗮 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝗔𝗹 𝗤𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗶 reminded us of the power of storytelling: "𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘢 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦" In AI, understanding lived experiences is key to designing solutions that truly help. Vida Hamd, Ph.D. spoke of her time in Lebanon, emphasizing the power of community and technology to support those in need-echoing the Be My Eyes initiative at Meta, which empowers visually impaired individuals. Yosr Hamza shared a deeply moving experience-how she resolved an issue that no doctor could address and built a platform to support individuals on their path to determination.
