I'm on a mission to do my part to close the racial wealth gap.  I help mid-career, ambitious Black women STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Professionals who are making at least an $85k salary go from feeling: - ashamed, - stuck, - paralyzed and - experiencing constant panic about her personal finances for not knowing what her financial future holds to having a clear path to financial freedom and developing a life centered financial plan that inspires her so that she feels: - safe, - secure, - confident, - motivated, - financially independent and has - peace of mind which helps her know that she doesn’t have to rely on anyone for her financial future and security. With over 18 years experience in financial services, I am the founder and financial planner of committed to helping women and #STEM professionals oversee their financial affairs. Your Story Financial was established in July 2016 and is a Registered Investment Adviser in the states of Texas, Florida and Arizona, and we service clients throughout the United States. I’m 2018, I started Your Story Financial Academy because I wanted people to see financial freedom and making work-optional/financial independence as something within her reach. I am originally from Columbus, OH and graduated with a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University. Soon after working as an engineer and taking on various roles, I decided to pursue my purpose in promoting financial literacy and financial planning. In 2004, I changed careers and began working with a global financial institution. Five years later in 2009, I became a financial advisor with a national broker-dealer firm and began assisting professionals, business owners, married and single women with their financial futures. After seven years with that broker-dealer firm, I launched my own firm which allows me to continue to promote financial literacy and stay true to my vision to provide financial planning regardless of one’s age or accumulated assets. In addition to helping clients achieve financial success, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, line dancing, reading a good non-fiction book, watching historical documentaries, and spending time with my husband.
